Kalle Specki tbf, lambos are meant to do these kinds of speeds. I’ve never had trouble with high speeds in mine, and I would assume the Huracan would be no different. But you have to realize a couple things: A) this isn’t the guy’s car, he’s renting Ferreti’s car, and as such, shouldn’t be pushing the car to almost 200 on public roads B) it’s on public roads, when you’re going that fast, any small bump or curve can turn into a nightmare if you aren’t properly prepared, especially for someone who has likely never driven a car like that before C) even though these cars are meant to push high speeds and go fast, high speeds and going fast does a lot wear on the car and it’s components There’s a level of trust between a rentor and a rentee(?), and this guy went above and beyond to break that

I enjoyed that video. I rented a C7 convertible last year out of Las Vegas. On highway 15 south about 11 PM I had the perfect opportunity to open it up. I had the top down because something evenings in Nevada are pretty nice. I didn't max it, but did get into the same neighborhood as your customer. The car was incredibly easy to control. The only really tell odd the speed was the wind noise. Those highways were built when Nevada had no speed limits so they were intended for going fast. I can only hope your customer had the experience I've had in fast cars. This was hardly my first time opening up a fast car, rather just the last time I went fast in a rental car. The car didn't miss a beat and was a hoot to drive. My favorite part wasn't even that though rather it was driving through the tunnel approaching the airport. The noise was awesome. Good times!

That's pretty impressive. I've got my C7 up to 140 and I was just gaining on the traffic way ahead to fast to "safely" go any faster. That was after leaving a huge gap ahead of me just to do a good speed run. It was a little after midnight so not many people on the road. I go up to 100 or a little more all the time but once you hit around 150 things start getting kind of sketchy on a public road. Can't blame the guy too much though, if you are renting a Lambo you want to get your money's worth plus the road conditions are perfect with most people staying at home now. At first I thought 181 was fast and then I remembered when I was in Germany driving a 2004 Passat station wagon at 150 miles an hour with 5 people in it and skis

140mph in Texas in a 2004 4 cylinder Honda Accord. 180 in a car designed to go 200+? Easy as pie I'd wager.
@Pimpnase4 жыл бұрын
No you did not. In 2004 there was only 1 Passat, that could do that and it is an extremely rare W8-Version - nowhere near a rental car in Germany. So even if it was a privately owned W8, it would have had winter tires, if you’d go skiing. And no one on god’s earth would buy winter tires with a W or Y speed-index for such a car. So... no, at least I don‘t believe you. But: good for you.

@@Pimpnase I could believe it. I did a 201km/h in a Ford Fiesta on the autobahn in 2005 which is 20km/h above its published maximum speed. Slight downhill with a tail wind. Those published top speeds of normal cars are estimates on whats sensible, not what it can actually do.

@@Thebadbeaver9 no that accord has the 2.4 if I'm not mistaken, and those can reach 130ish, the rest was probably a lying speedometer.

I came into this video expecting that Rob will be complaining that customer drives fast cars fast and plan to say "stop complaining, one day you complain that customers doesn't know how to drive and crashes them, another that they know how to drive and drive fast". However, after watching it I really appreciate his opinion on it - that is the right attitude - "this is between him and the cops, my business is that car came back fine". I wish all rental companies would be like this, because I had a row which nearly ended-up in lawsuit last year - I rented 2019 MB E300 as I always do (some sort of luxury saloon), but when I came in they said they don't have E300 in stock so they upgraded me to E 53AMG. Cool enough I thought, but the care came with hidden GPS tracker... and to be honest I don't care - it is their car and they can protect it, they don't want it to get stolen, I don't want it to get stolen and if it does get stolen car having GPS is actually works in my advantage - if they find the car is less for me to worry. Now what happened, they apparently have different terms for their "performance cars" which states that if you speed for 25km/h for 5 minutes or if you momentary exceed 50km/h over limit there is 50 Euro charge payable. Now this was not in my agreement because I signed E300 agreement not E53AMG. Anyway to cut the story short, I was overtaking trucks several time on country road with varying limit of 70-90km/h and at points I was doing 150, 160, 170km/h... I mean that is why I get better car, so that I can drive in comfort and I don't need to worry when overtaking whenever I could or could not make it. Sure enough next day I get email - saying "this is warning, if you do it again there is charge payable". This got me pissed off and I called them and said basically the same thing "my speeding is between me and police, if I get fine I will pay it, this is not your business, your business is to rent cars and make sure they are safe and presentable, if I crash the car it is my problem, if I get speeding ticket it is my problem, you should not be worried about it and should focus on your core business and let the police to do what they do". They were adamant that I should not be speeding, but they could not apply the charges due to me signing different agreement, then they proceed to threaten me with charge again and I said I will sue them if they do as that is not what we sign. Surprisingly they still continue to rent cars for me and in E300 and BMW 530 they don't even have trackers so didn't have issue with them since.

“That’s between him and the cops” Did you call the cops on the renter? Curious.

I doubt it, with just the GPS data there's nothing they can do anyway.
