Appreciate you guys going over this interesting topic. Not only going over a general program but the explanation of the order and movements.

Meh the top lifters (for the supertotal) will be elite weightlifters who happen to bench a lot. Elite powerlifters can't do snatches and clean and jerk lol

Fantastic content. Heads up, around the 10 min mark, when Max is speaking, leg raises appear twice in the slide.

I feel like Max is rolling his eyes because he knows someone is going to make this comment..... Mark Henry is NOT best known in weightlifting. He’s best known as sexual chocolate in WWE.

in all fairness super total should be = (sn+ c & j) × 2 + (squat+ bp + DL)

The most important book to learn and become able to program our own trainings and become the coach of ourselves? Westside science and practice of strength training or any other book?
@big_yoshi016 жыл бұрын
Rasim Zeytunlu starting strength is ok. westside is just no go. JTS has video critiqueing westside. I reccomend Chads book scientific principles of strength training the stuff in it is very simply writen but the information is complex. If you want to really learn about programming read old soviet union/russian texts, they are the foundation of training everything we know about training comes from texts from Mell Siff, Tudor Bompa, L. P. Matveyev, Vladimir Issurin, Vladimir M. Zatsiorsky, Anatolia P. Bondarchuk and Yuri V. Verhoshansky. Just to a few great people that have made a great impact in training as we know it.

Chad, what is your supertotal? Clarence Kennedy (can be confirmed) Klokov (can be confirmed, I guess) and Lasha Talakhadze (I suppose) probably have great supertotals.

The heaviest Snatch and Clean & Jerk I've ever done are 125 (Power Snatch) and 180 C&J (when I was 19 or 20yo). PL all time bests are 425 (sleeves), 260kg bench and 370kg dead.

Hello Mart Seim, Estonian olympic lifter: snatch 191, clean and jerk 253, squat 400, deadlift 330 (from videos) and bench he said in article 220x2 in training. He also has talked about competing in powerlifting event in off season, lets hope he does at one point. Strong contender for top 3.

Does Weightlifting or Powerlifting have greater transfer to Strongman? Or even bodybuilding? As a base training modality, which do you see as a better option? Or do you see Strongman as a completely different training type with some bastard child of all 3 plus it’s own particular style?
@JuggernautTrainingSystems6 жыл бұрын
I'd choose Weightlifting, slightly ahead of Powerlifting probably. Weightlifting will have an athlete come in with greater overhead ability, coordination and speed, Powerlifting will likely have a more muscular athlete with a better deadlift.

Could incline bench be a better option since the angle is a bit closer to a press? It's also powerlifting-focused. Just curious as to your thoughts.
