Thank you, Bryce and ST team for this awesome video, and also props to the camera man! It amazes me how you keep providing us with valuable information after hundreds of videos on the same three movements!

Thanks Bryce, very informative. I've taken a page of notes and will attempt to apply them when I deadlift tomorrow. I have been coached on the dead' and some of the points made I haven't received in my coaching. I'm trying to crack 180kg, so close at 175kg (ok for a 75kg 71year old).

Em Jay No it wasnt...the back was flat yes but the shoulders were too far behind the bar thus pressure wasnt on midfoot thus hips were rising first thus quads werent doing much etc. All that was adjusted

His torso position around 13:45 is almost horizontal. Does that matter for an effective lift? My deadlift is similar and I'm self conscious about it since people tend to say it should look like a 45 degree angle or something.
@RagonHD
@RagonHD 5 жыл бұрын
your torso position is nearly horizontal because you have short upperbody long legs.

Tbh, he is not deadlifting. Its more like romanian deadlift or even rowing for the most part of the movement even though he tries to use his hips. He doesnt tighten his lats before the lift and doesnt use much of his legs in the bottom part by pushing off the ground. It's clearly seen by his front bit of shoes almost looking like floating. He really gotta narrow his stance a bit and point his toes a little outward so he would be in a better position to push off the ground while his lats is tight.

Depends how you're built. This guy could drop his hips a bit for more power thru the legs.
@L3x4Pr0ne

It’s his body type. Mine is the same. Stupid long legs and short torso, I’m practically stiff-legged and horizontal back. It’s the only way I can pull conventional though.

I hate how he keeps saying “come on”, why is he rushing him? You can see in his later conventional lifts his hips began higher and higher, I don’t know how he didn’t point that out
@бисноват-в3ъ

Because he says in the video that sometimes people are too busy with cues which actually messes the lift up for them. Sometimes its better to just go and pull fast.

So he does great conventional, and then you start with SUMO? lol, GTFO. It's two diffrent lifts. They should seperate that in competition imho.

@hoboguts8707
@hoboguts8707 6 жыл бұрын
Why should they be separate in comp? If the problem is that you think everyone pulls more weight sumo, think again. There are plenty of conventional lifters that are stronger than sumo pullers. It's preference. Just because it has less range of motion doesn't mean it's any less technical or impressive.
