You forgot to mention how far out in the middle of nowhere Vaughn is. Your 15 minutes would not have gotten you to the next house outside of Vaughn :) Want to see a 20 year old cow become a prime Heifer? Run over one in open range, and when you get the bill, it'll be a prime heifer you're paying for.

I would love to hear your thoughts on why you think 2019 will be a little less productive than 18. Economy seems to be rolling fine where I live, building houses ,building businesses, I see lots of new cars on the road ....just curious your thoughts…

...people love being pessimistic. Because they're afraid of success. Gives them an excuse to not take that next risk, they know they're going to regret not taking, and to be able to stay in their comfort zone. Everyone wants an excuse. Makes them feel more secure I think. That way too, if it goes bad they feel smart. If it doesn't go bad, they laugh it off and everyone says "oh well." At least half to two-thirds of the trucking community currently think next year will be a downturn. I think that's their negative nature. 2019 is going to be another great year!!! Especially in steel, equipment and building materials. I will say, the more negative the majority is, the more positive people can capitalize off their negative nature.

You can call it whatever you want to. 2018 was a record breaking year. The ELD and the hot economy created the perfect storm for rates. I have seen alot of newer owners operators go and buy brand new Trucks and Trailers assuming the rates and freight volume of mid 2018 were going to continue. Some of these guys are already feeling the crunch. Over the years I have learned to budget myself at lower rates. It just makes it a little easier to survive in the hard times.

Stephen Grizzle I wouldn’t call it pessimistic... its realistic! anyone that has been in the trucking industry any amount of time knows it is constantly going up and down,no two years are exactly the same and rates are always changing. There is still money to be made as always, but the rates we saw most of 2018 took a dramatic drop in Late August and have not risen back up. However, my guys will make money regardless! They work hard and sacrifice each and every day!
