Just pull the negative battery cable off when you leave the little truck. These newer vehicle have a small drain on the battery 24-7.

I put in a battery disconnect switch in my terminal little truck so the battery would not go dead. It is the alternator diodes that have a "reverse bias" current flow and other small current draws that kill the battery over time. Ever wonder why school buses and construction equipment have a cut out switch?

I have a little 95 Escort and it also had a dead battery, an Interstate no less. I had the charging system checked and it's ok, the battery simply developed a bad cell, but no sin for it, I think I put it in around 2010. Now I keep battery tenders on all my vehicles, even the lawn tractor. They greatly extend the battery life especially when they sit a lot and much cheaper than buying a battery. Tractor Supply sells a decent model for a great price. ////// When is the train for tomorrow, LOL? Nice seeing you Dan, Stay safe out there.......

I'm retired now but for a couple of months, many years ago, I was flying cargo in MD-11's between Hawaii to American Samoa (American possession like Porto Rico) then down to Australia and a few days later back to Hawaii. We would drop off the US mail in American Samoa on our way to Australia. I took my skydiving gear and got to skydive in Hawaii and Australia on that trip. My job was sorta like yours except we flew all over the world hauling freight. Back then we would fly to Asia (Japan, Korea, China, etc.) basically empty and loaded to the gills flying back to America. I think that may have changed because of Trump's new trade deals in Asia. I got to see the world like you get to see America. Blue skys.
