Absolutely correct on the Oh toll plazas. Very nice and clean. Pa turnpike toll plazas all redone. We live in Pa and use some of these roads between Pa and Oregon, Illinois when visiting relatives. Pa turnpike tolls increase yearly until a about the year 2040. Indiana toll plazas, so-so.

Dan - You started out in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. I spent Many summers very near there at a house on a lake. Anyhow, back in the early 70's they had a bakery in lil ole 'downtown' Elkhorn. For 25c you could get home-made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. AND, they had real like whip cream in the middle. They made hostess cupcakes taste like cardboard! In defense of PA's toll roads, the Feds refused to let us toll I80, and certain governors made promises that couldn't be kept when that was the case. So while the toll roads are expensive they also pay for non toll road improvements.

Out of all the truck stops you visited, what is the BEST commercial chain on average in cleanliness, customer care, well stocked supplies etc...I e. T/A, Loves, Flying J/Pilot, Petro?. As a frequent traveler, I visit these places but haven't visited enough to draw my own conclusion. Cool to see you deliver at Sherwin Milwaukee.. We used to bring clay up from Tennessee to there during the summer they use to make the sealer for filling potholes and cracks.. You are correct its in a residential area and you must watch your route in there..think some streets have truck restrictions

Get one of those Teflon plates for campers and glue a piece of it on that post for your squeak.

Dan, grab you some Lucas white lithium grease. It comes in a tube and is the consistency of regular grease but will hold up against the water better than regular grease. It will also last longer than the spray. Stay safe and thanks for the entertainment

I always enjoyed running across Ohio on 80 just due to the fact there was so much parking at those service plazas. Never really had to worry about a place to park if I was running through there, even late at night. Just wish they had showers!

I’ve had brakes on my tractors and trailers last 500k. 3 exceptions were my 3 younger brothers driving my Pete’s. Those brake shoes and tires lasted 150-180k. Father parked his tractor, 1994 KW W-900B, with 810,000 miles. Original brake shoes and drums!

Then I used to work on Peterbilt many years ago we used to use a cable grease for those hoods comes in a spray can or get it in a little tub is the grease I use on cranes for winch cables it’s very thick and tacky you can get a Moz auto parts and also at Walmart in the auto department I bought it
