A recently RETIRED friend who worked for TXDOT has said that BRAKE & TIRES are at the top of the list of DEFECTS and VIOLATIONS they find atweight stations & he worries about the number of TRUCKS, RV's and personal cars & pickups that NEVER GET A THOUROGH inspecion & most States Inspections are NOT THOROUGH ENOUGH, as accidents caused by DEFECTIVE BRAKES and TIRES are a MAJOR CAUSE of FATAL ACCIDENTS. 🙂

I follow a lot of trucking channels and I have to commend you on how you run your business. I never hear you complain about what needs to be repaired/replaced. You just do it. Most of the other guys whine and complain about the cost. If they would put money from each load into a maintenance account and stop buying so many lights and chrome they would be fine. Hi bailey!

I used to drive lots of Westcoast, Vancouver, Los Angeles and Arizona. But now I work for a company out of Prince Edward Island Canada. Had to load in Nova Scotia and crossed border into Maine. Level 1 inspection before Bangor, and lots of traffic today coming through New York and ended up in Fredericktsburg in Virginia. Heading south to Plant City Florida. Running the I95. Very busy highway lol. Like your channel and stay safe.

In the 70s I sometimes ran across West Virginia on US 60, before I 64 was complete. Now those were some hills, with lots of hairpin curves! Two lane road, but a major truck route back in that day.

I just drive from Maine down to Florida the I95 I encountered so many trafficjams starting by the Bronx in New York till Fredericksburg VA Still have to go down to Plant City Florida lol. Started off in Nova Scotia Canada.

You made the right call on taking 64 to Norfolk. I live in the Knoxville area and have family in the Norfolk area and taking 40 across NC is by far the slowest route from Knoxville to Norfolk. I'd pay $30 any day to bypass Nashville and Knoxville and the hills of 81. I was surprised that they found any issues with your truck, but since they did you know it was a thorough inspection, besides they have to find something.

Mr. Dan can you please tell me how long your flatbed trailer is and what’s your take on a flatbed vs a step deck? I’m in the process of buying my first semi tractor and I’m currently running a hotshot business. I do like the flatbed/step deck work. I’m pushing 50 and think I can do this kind of work until I’m 108. Then I will look into being a door swinger driver. 😂 I will take any advice given. Yep, Norfolk is where I live. 64 to 564 will take you to Truck Inspection, if you are going to NOB/NASNORVA. i drive a 2007 KW T800 5 axle Dumptruck.
