Your videos have got so much better (not that the early ones were bad). I love that you took the flashing checker board looking thing off the side and the TV screen boarder around the video. Good stuff man, keep up the great work.

I have to say that your videos are BY FAR the Best videos about old gaming systems on youtube. The way you present them is not only very informative but also fun to watch :)

System review videos take the longest to produce and the most amount of work goes into them, so it can be very difficult for me to do them as i need to know i'm going to be able to finish it and not put it on hold time and time again. I enjoy doing them but it's difficult, i also have some new shows in the works too. Hopefully i'll do another soon though. thanks for watching

yeah i've heard the mario music, the good thing about it though is it proves that the supervision is capable of at least matching the Gameboy for sound, it's just a pitty nobody coding the games was any good at doing music :p
@ReplayRetro11 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, yeah some games do have quite a bit of space but not all of them, and it could easily have been used, it's genuinely a good system really and it could very easily have been the one to take on the Gameboy its only real weakness was the lack of games, even the blurring could have been resolved by the right games

Yeah probably, the whole thing expected to compete at 5/9 of the gameboy's price (roughly) but the games didn't look as half as polished in my opinion.

The super vision was a great attempt of trying to overthrown the gameboy, but as alway's it failed too.

I had never heard of this before and I am starting to notice why. It seems that many companies went with the idea that bigger/more is always better. But, in all those games I noticed a great deal of empty space around the main part of all of those games. An outstanding show as always!

Out of curiosity are you planning to do a review of the British computer systems aka the Spectrum, the BBC series (strangely enough mentioned in the opening bit), the Acorn (yes I know the BBC series and the Acorn series were both made by the same people) etc. I find your reviews really interesting, especialy your reviews of American systems that (the Colecovision, the Atari etc.) that I've never seen in action having grown up in the UK and thus more familiar with the British ones, I just thought those across the vast Atlantic would enjoy seeing what we were doing while their console market was 'sleeping' as it were.

Hey i hope you are still on KZbin!! I own both models. I can personally say that while it could be better if it was the same horizontally, but looking at the graphics on the gameboy versus the Supervision, you can tell that there is bigger, taller sprites. It just has to to with the astetics. The gameboy's small screen is a little cramped up with a lot of detail. While the watara feels loose, like a children's art. Though...... It still sucks even if the graphics are more free. Its ugly, the music is usually ass, expensive in today's world, and it just isn't worth it getting it for play other than a laugh or some quick play. I like it, but its definitely not the best

Thanks to you, I've learned about yet another obscure system I've never heard of before, including the reason(s) why it is obscure. Great review as always. Does the other button allow your character to run? Perhaps that is the secret to get over the fire. A system like this could have been more successful if it had a bunch of RPG games, and if the build quality hadn't declined (lack of software can be fixed - hardware not so much). One suggestion - Radio mike for better clarity of voice.

Good to see you back, really interesting video on a handheld that I had not heard of. You are right, no software meant failure no matter how good the hardware was and Nintendo had extremely aggressive contracts with developers, locking them into their platforms.

Good to see you back again, and ill say as i have before, and others have. You are the best retro gaming reviewer on youtube. You go into depth, and keep things informative and funny, without making it obvious. And i see you've found yourself a pippin! I wanted one of those but my economy wouldnt allow me. Now they are too pricey to justify for me.. Looking forward to a review of that one!
@P5ychoFox11 жыл бұрын
Great to see you covering this machine. For my sins I do collect loose carts for the Supervision & own 2 tilt screen versions of the console (One with kickstands and one without). I do like the system but the music on all games is dire. One game (Super Block I think) is a Tetris clone with looping music ripping off Super Marioland!
@ReplayRetro11 жыл бұрын
to be fair there are only so many basic game types, even today games take their basics from other games, but yeah it doesn't exactly scream of creativity. Chimera looked really cool though, i'd not seen anything like that on a handheld before
@pimpingmrli10 жыл бұрын
You should use Novus Plastic Polish or something similar on your screen. You can buff it back to looking brand new w/o any scratches. Ive heard you can use toothpaste also...but it would probably take several applications.

Good to see you back with another review Matt :) I can't say that I've heard of the SuperVision. I can't say that after this review I'll be rushing out to get one either lol. I guess if it had some good marketing behind it plus some good games to go with it then it might of been a contender but going up against Nintendo with the library they had at their disposal you're gonna need more than some cheap clone games. That Hero Kid looks absolutely terrible haha

The machine isn't all that bad, the bigger screen is a major advantage over the Gameboy and is absolutely fine for games which don't have lots of fast full screen movement. There's a few decent games too, nothing mind blowing but some great time wasters. If you see one cheap with a good bundle of games it's well worth trying it out

Funny you showed that HeroKid game, i just got it on mail today along with Tasac2010 still boxed. I had it when i was a kid back in 1994 or 1995 and really don't remember having so much trouble jumping across those obstacles :P I can't wait to try it later on when i get home, it's been nearly 20 years o_O. The supervision was actually a good handheld console hardware wise, it's a shame the games sucked leading it to its downfall.
@JMFSpike10 жыл бұрын
17:22 Pushing both A and B buttons at once allows you to suicide. Sadly, with the exception of Hero Kid, you showed off some of the best games for the system. However, you didn't show off the very best one(in my opinion), and that is Delta Hero. That is a really cool little game. If only Nintendo would have made it, then it would have been so much better. Actually, I'm sure it's a cheap rip-off of some NES or GameBoy game, as most of the Supervisions games are. I just haven't discovered what game that ones ripping off. As soon as I do, I'll definitely be playing that no doubt superior version. Anyway, I've found that the best games are almost all made by Bon Treasure.
