Good afternoon Jess! First, thank you so much for replying to a previous inquiry about substrate, as most youtubers don't really interact with their fans too much. Always been a fan of how informative and clear you are, 1000% helpful. Second, and as a question, what does your feeder insect set ups look like? Do you keep them in their own tank? And do you separate the insect species? I remember you feed them fruits and veggies scraps, and they need hides and ventilation... are they in the same room as the pets? In a closet for darkness lol? This is something I haven't found too much info on, mostly just what to feed them...

I have one Leo who will only eat Morio worms since she got big enough to eat them. Another who goes through phases of only eating a particular feeder. His favourite used to be black crickets, then silent crickets, currently Locusts. (He is now off his food as my Female Crestie is giving off come hither pheromones and both my male Leo and my male Crestie only have baby making on their minds). Stay safe and well :0)

@@JessicasAnimalFriends oh thank you , you replied on my other comment on a previous video. Tell you what he does love, the mealworm beetles and I’ve heard not many will touch those, don’t like to give too many though as I don’t know how healthy they are. He has Dubia, mealworms and superworms. We can’t get hornworms here in the U.K. I don’t think. I tried crickets once but I don’t like them he did but they escaped and with him being a slow eater they would end up all over hiding etc.

I have a leopard gecko and when she came to us she would only eat super worms but I am trying to get her to eat Dubai roaches. I also have a bearded dragon I only got her 2 days ago and she loves Dubai roaches but she is a bit under weight would you recommend giving her super worms more often then usual to help her gain weight.

You can toss a couple supers in there, but just be consistent with your Dubia feedings and she will put the weight on :)

I haven’t had the opportunity to try DHPs for leos yet but from what I have read, they are lovely and I’d like to try them in the future! My next leo upgrades will include heating from above, and I may go with the DHP

I give some pupae to my gecko, but not the superworm pupa, only the mealworm pupa, and I only give them if it is still white not yellowish, since once it becomes yellow it's kinda hard and tough already. For me pupae is good since it is really gooey inside :D

I seldom have pupae so I didn't even think to cover it in the video, sorry! I have never offered superworm pupae to my leos because I have never had any. I imagine as long as it was still alive and not super hard, it would be fine, but I recommend googling it!

Hello. I have a baby leopard gecko and she just eats crickets. I have tryed meal worms and wax worms but she just doesn't seem to like them. Her previous home just fed her crickets. Not concerned about her but I would love to get her to eat other things. I have a routine with calcium with and without D3 and a multivitamin. Any tips? Thanks ❤

Try Dubia roaches and hornworms too. Just be patient. It can take a while for a gecko to be interested in new foods

I know this is a old video but my geck seems to like superworms better than meals worms because they move alot, maybe because the mealworms i got don’t move alot and smaller so should i try mealworms from a different place, i dust the super worms really good but i don’t think it should be his main food what do you think? He will eat mealworms if iam shaking alot so the move more so iam guessing i need to find better meal worms

I’ve been using the Zoo Med Calcium+D3 since I’ve had my geckos and Herptavite once a month, I’ve recently switched to the Repashy Cal Plus. Should I use Zoo Med Cal without D3 in there bowls and jus dust the feeders with Repashy every time they eat and no more Herp ?

I am so scared I am co habbing to of my first ever leopard geckos together I have had them for about 5 month every thing has been fine but one has stared to bit the other ones tail and chasing her (don't know gender of them)around the tank and up on the hides and trying to bite her neck sometimes

hi! I have a couple bioactive tours on the channel, but I am using ABG mix from Josh's Frogs as well as a bit of organic soil, leaf litter, and a small amount of sphagnum moss. Josh's frogs also has bio-bedding, which I have seen others use.

How many super worms do you offer each gecko? I have an albino who is rather large and I think he has issues with sight because he has trouble to get feeding. He does well eating out of a bowl, but eats dubias best. I would like to offer him some super worms but everyone says they can’t be a “staple” feeder because they are too fatty:

Dead super worm smell is for real the worst 🤮. My package got lost for 5 days and then finally made it to my house and most the supers didn't make it cuz it was winter(even with heat packs.) I could not get the smell out of my nose for ever. And in general to me superworms just smell I don't like them Don't think I'll ever get them again My guys didn't seem to like them either 😂

To prevent my animals from eating substrate, I tong feed. Also, at least half of my leos need to be tong fed due to neurological disorders or other special needs.
