3:50 That's the worlds largest sail-assist Motor Yacht "A". 142m(496f)LOA and 100m tall. 8 decks, 54 crew, top speed 21knots, max range 5320nm at 16 knots. Launched in May 2015 and owned by Russian Billionaire Andrey Melnichenko. Read up on Melnichenko, interesting story on how he, as a Physics Student in College started out making his fortune by trading in currencies. Some say he successfully predicted the 2008 financial crises and got out of banking before the collapse.

Jared, I have STCW A-II/1 officer ticket and all the other necessary certificates, including advanced medical, firefighting, gmdss etc, how should I try to get going in the yacht industry?

BlockingOut TheHaters start spending a lot of time at docks, marinas and common mooring locations where there are regularly large enough yachts to require a crew, and start making connections. make new friends with cooks, captains, everyone you can to have as many contacts within the industry as possible. if possible hand out a resumé to captains and offer yourself to help with days out and things like that, even for minimal or no pay, the experience is good and it’s good for the resumé

Or, maybe, apply to brokers. Sales brokers are usually charter brokers as well. Take a look at their websites and at the bottom there should be a crew opportunities section, or jobs available etc and apply to everyone.
