I love the hull design. Great views for the passengers (and crew). It would be an eye/attention grabbing resort or harbour taxi, or super yacht limousine tender. The low (for a hydrofoil) speed and limited range are sufficient for specific use cases, but also a pretty clear indication that electric propulsion isn't yet ready to replace internal combustion engines.

24 knots 50 mile range is so low after mentioning that much drag improvements 50 mile might leave you in the middle of nowhere in a random storm that might happen.

its not low for a boat. Especially what is essentially a luxury taxi. The sweet spot for range is going to be right above planing speed -- so you HAVE to run 18-20 knots. 50 miles is 2.5 hours -- with a 5 hour recharge.

Not really, nowhere near enough roof to make enough range to be significant. There is a reason most solar boats are both big AND slow. "Small and Fast" is not solar friendly -- can't even make enough to keep the AC running.

Outside the box thinking creates an incredible groundbreaking impractical boat! Ergonomics at the helm good but the helm seat isn't. How strong is the glass if a wave hits it? No side decks for mooring or cleaning it. Lakes and slow running large rivers are best applications for now. I built a radical narrowboat with 4 electric motors/thrusters 6 hrs of battery and I still put a gen set on it.

Cut the green bull materials for the batteries still have to be mined and processed which uses lots harmful chemicals and also lots of water you've also got the copper mines and all the water used on processing the copper that boat has a large carbon footprint in the making of it how many years does it take to become carbon neutral how many tons of carbon was produced in the making of the boat it's no greener for the planet than any other boat

You ignore operating costs - conveniently. No oil changes, no emissions, etc. I'm not an electric zealot, just objective. ICE has been around for 100+ years and has evolved. Electric mobility will see accelerated advancements in the next couple of years. Ie, solid state batteries are only just looking at commercialization. Talk to us in 5 years time.

Great design - No - it's not a WIG. Far from it !!! Let's not confuse people please. WIG's are aerodynamic, this boat is hydrodynamic !! They could add solar panels. Would extend range slightly. Carpet you can throw away within a year. Glass is super heavy and needs to be thick for Class. Could use acrylic instead - but will need replacing after 5 years. Great design. Make sure when boating you are near a bathroom !! Great start .. there will be many iterations in future designs. Keep it out of the water - foils foul quickly and need to be super clean. Don't hit anything underwater !!

Can’t get past the impression with many of these boats that there are designed simply to point a spotlight at the owners. I realize that is a good part of the marketing, but truly I find this design comical, impractical, and a bit ridiculous. That being said, you make it and you can spend it however you wish.

I know you';re a yacht channel, but this kind of virtue signaling "green" stuff drives my crazy. Where's the energy coming from for shore power? Where are the rare earth metals coming from to make al these batteries for EVs.. cars, boats etc? The truth is there's nothing green about EVs and there are not enough rare earth metals to mine to make a full transition as many are pushing for. Not to mention the environmental disaster the mining is. Gotta love when so many in the west cruise around in their EVs virtue signaling while ignoring the mining to make that happen many thousands of miles away in Africa and China.

Tell me you dont understand science without understanding science and data. If you really cared about the enviornment you'd be way more upset about the fact that there's small groups of peole being transported on 10s of gallons of diesel per mile. EMPG is an OPEN SOURCE standard that factors electric vehicles' relative gas mpg when accounting for what the grid uses to produce electricity. We have the standards in place already, maybe learn before you push your BS unsubstantiated opinion
