@standingstone can you tell me where to get the bubble bowls and what formula do you feed!

Here's the feeder: amzn.to/3SAdTFx and we feed Esbilac. The canned version is best for bottle feeding and when we start weaning we use the powder in their food!

Great videos! We've got an English Shepherd mama that whelped last week. I think it was one of your videos that you recommended no blankets in the whelping box (I also read that other places). But, mama really wants to nest. She gets out of the whelping box and digs in blankets outside of the box. Do you have any advice for a nesting mama in the whelping box that will be safe for the pups, or when are the pups old enough for a blanket in the whelping box to be safe?

Thanks for watching and we hope your momma is doing good with her litter! As for nesting and whelping material, we recommend waiting until puppies are a minimum of a week old before adding bedding, but that all depends on litter size as well as ultimately the size of the puppies and if they are thriving and hardy enough to wiggle out from the bedding if it gets raked up. One thing we would like to mention is sometimes mommas can be overly anxious and continue excessive nesting if they are low on calcium. So depending on the dog food you are feeding and the volume she is eating as well as how many puppies she has and her milk production she may be low on calcium which increases her agitation and nesting. We will sometimes offer our mommas one or two chewable tums tablets the first week or so after they whelp depending on their milk production, eating habits and overall behavior. Hope this helps and good luck with your litter!
