You both make some of the finest razors I’ve ever used. Sincerely. (I will always choose the Thorn or Twig in the end) Y’all are both great!

Your leaf razor has too many moving parts and needlessly limits the blade by utilizing only one side of it. A perk of the traditional safety razor is the ability to instantly swap to the opposing, clean side of the blade. I can imagine this thing rusting up, having the screw mechanism malfunction, or otherwise messing up and negating any benefit that this novelty item might afford. Plus, who wants to break razor blades in half with their bare fingers?

@@wt9767 The whole point is for it to be a switch from cartridge razor and not be a traditional safety razor lol, did you know anything about that? And you can break the blade in the wrapper with no safety issue at all.

@@andrewdinicola lol who cares what it intends to be? How about you address the concerns I had about the product itself? And yes, there are certainly safety issues involved when snapping a razor covered in wax paper with your fingers.

The pleasure I get from wet shaving cannot be explained fully to someone who doesn't shave that way. When I tell people about the pleasure I get from wet shaving, they often get a puzzled look, and giggle as if they are listening to a mad man, and I think I must be mad. But I sure do love it, for reasons I don't quite understand myself. All the best.

I am on the leaf, a twig and a supply razor in the past. Supply razors are from Fort Worth where I live so thumbs up. I tried the supply razor three times. I sent it back twice and after the third time finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Good people to work with. I tried using the leaf on my face and it just didn’t work. It’s just too big. That thing is really for body and head. I didn’t like the feel of the twig in my hand because the bottom is so large. I wish leaf had made a single blade razor that had a pivot. At this point though, I am using the proof razor that uses a single half blade and it has a pivot!

My first foray into DE shaving is the Rockwell 6C and I'm enjoying learning the process. However, the Leaf has me interested as it seems like the smaller head design would make it easier to navigate under my nose. It would be cool to see them both compared considering you can use the same type of blade in both.

Hope you ended up getting a Leaf SE (Twig or Thorn). My first DE was a Rockwell 6C, and a couple others after that (but nothing measuring up to the RW). I use the 5 plate exclusively, and the Leaf Twig (not the Thorn, since I bought it for the wife and went with the milder Twig) is phenomenally good! Gets under the nose perfectly, where I can't get with the RW. Awesome razor!

I have the Twig and Supply Injector and I chose to remove the nick free guard for the sensitive skin head and it helped in a big way. I give the edge to the Twig/Thorn razor because you have a lot more blade choices than you do with the Supply Injector. You only have 4 blade choices with the Supply Injector versus the entire DE blade market which is about 30 different brands of blades.

I almost bought a Merkur 34c, paused looked around & saw this video The Leaf Thorn looks great both razors do. For someone is switching from a cartridge razor, where's the best place to start. I was thinking maybe i should ask someone who knows before getting one or the other. Just a though. i'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Is it difficult to put the blade on straight on the Thorn? I know there’s a magnet that it adheres to but what helps keep the blade straight? What if you don’t break the DE blade into even halves? What would this mean for blade exposure?
@coolstory61932 жыл бұрын
It’s almost impossible to not break them into even halves. I tried to purposely do it and they would always break even.

The blades don't reference off of any break points so it doesn't even have to be an even break 🤝
@cardona54321 Жыл бұрын
There are pins on both sides of the head that the blade locates against in the cutouts, the only thing you have to check is when you are closing the head onto the blade that it is top part closes straight, sometimes you need to touch the upper part to help align it just before it contacts the blade and clamps shut. Don't let it put you off though it's dead easy to align and it's a great razor! I prefer my twig even more than my Rockwell 6c which I love too, the twig paired with permasharp SE blades is amazing! On thick stubble I find it good with a sharp blade even though it's a mild razor

Also I hope you realize the supply is meant to prevent nicking. I would say for people who don't like bleeding and singing, the learning curve is greater with the leaf since it your angle is off you're not likely to cut yourself.
