Dave, I was struggling with placing a power supply under a turntable and powering a device on top. It was simply getting too complicated and I decided to look online and found your webpage & video. This is so simple and genius. Thank you for sharing!

@@DaveBodnar I'm going to be powering an Arduino, probably a mega. I was planning on using a 9v or 12v battery pack, but I'm having a hard time finding coil setups that receive more than 5v. I did find one that appears to be 24v to 24v, but I'm wondering if ill have issues if I only supply 12v to it.

@@SoCalSteve I really can't say - best move might be to do some experiments and see how it behaves dave

Thanks for making all of your videos, Dave! I really appreciate your approach and level of detail without getting into the weeds and over my head. Very accessible and encouraging. I've been wanting to make some spinning holiday decorations but wasn't sure how to go about it. Now I am. Thanks again!

Reminds me of my electric toothbrush. I can see use for this for rotating animation without the problem of adding pesky pickup rings and sliding contacts. Thanks Dave. I look forward to your next video.

How can we rotate in both directions by powering wireless
@DaveBodnar2 жыл бұрын
You would need a double pole/double throw switch after the wireless receiver dave

Hi Love the idea and trying to source wireless charger in Canada but the link you have on your old web page are out of date. Can you suggest somewhere to buy this from please ?

Try Amazon - here is the link I used www.amazon.com/s?k=Wireless+Power+Supply+Coil+Module&crid=86I36N52MZGC&sprefix=wireless+power+supply+coil+module%2Caps%2C92&ref=nb_sb_noss dave

Holy shit, I've been thinking of this concept for a long while Just two connector "Washer" shapes that rotate separately that transfer power. Glad to see it's possible haha

Hello Dave, I have a question. I want to do something similar like the concept that you have for the power but I want to do something with transferring data. Is there anyway or any components out there that you might know of where I could transfer data instead of power. Like having two pins or gears rotating together to transfer data. Instead of having it connect like a usb plug
@DaveBodnar11 ай бұрын
I would use radio to transfer data. Check this link trainelectronics.com/Arduino/HC-12-Serial_Radio/ Dave

@@DaveBodnar It’s more like a transmitter and a receiver.

If I use a more powerful battery could it supply more voltage? How much power is lost through the transfer?
@DaveBodnar2 ай бұрын
You are limited by the device and cannot exceed its ratings

Dave have you made one of those transmitters? I wonder if I can make my own for a bigger project.

Dave, I'm putting together a Ferris wheel for the holidays. On the circle that turns around, I'd like to put some AC stuff (low power draw) and also some DC (LED strips - 12V). I have a 48V DC power supply that will sit on the frame. Would your solution work for me? Thanks! Bob
@DaveBodnar2 жыл бұрын
It will only provide DC power. If your items only work with AC you need another solution

Hi can i pass more current from the rectifier
@DaveBodnar3 жыл бұрын
The amount of current is limited by the circuit - as it comes you are limited to what it provides

Great demo ! I built a wireless energy POV a few months ago that may be of interest, utilizing an Arduino...it uses a simple to make circuit to create the switching for the coil and a single 1.2V NiMH. "1.2V wireless electric POV" as a search will bring it up (i'd likely end up in your spam section by posting the link). Best wishes for more creations that use wireless electricity :)
