Damn right support for US aid is dropping… We have serious economic issues domestically and Americans are not seeing the value in the billions in charity we’re giving to other countries to fight their wars. We understand the reason for our support of Ukraine, but don’t foresee an end to the conflict anytime soon, and therefore find ourselves scratching our heads as Ukraine continues to ask for ‘free’ aid packages/assistance. To make matters worse, it’s perplexing to see the Biden administration offer support but limit the type of military weapons they give to Ukraine, and so what’s the point of giving US aid for Ukraine to barely defend themselves verses definitive support to win the war. That’s the real problem. We’re caught in a proxy war wherein the goal (of the Biden administration) is to frustrate Russia enough to cause them to abandon all interest in Ukraine. However, this strategy just prolongs the conflict and our enemies know (from our history) that we’re naive enough to sacrifice for lost causes such as all the years, lives, and money wasted in Afghanistan to just abruptly leave and hand the country back over to the Taliban… the same regime we spent billions to defeat. That said, Russia knows all they have to do is wait-it-out as we (the US) hurt ourselves economically playing the role of the world police. On the topic of Israel, Americans are growing sick of the Israelis and their love affair with playing the ‘victim card’ and tendency to use that as justification to create unnecessary conflict. And it’s become apparent that Israel believes they’re above the same international laws they love to play victim to such as laws on genocide. They’ve had since the end of WWII (almost a century) to build a peaceful existence within the Middle East, but instead they’ve been emboldened to do whatever they wish on the strength of their alliance with the US. And in doing so, they’ve committed their own heinous acts since becoming a country in the 1940s, namely the displacement of the Palestinians between the West Bank and Gaza. The difference nowadays is Americans aren’t fooled anymore by skewed reports by traditional media outlets… thanks to modern technology and social media. We see the videos of Israeli soldiers killing unarmed women and children, bombing hospitals and schools, blocking food and water supplies to starving Palestinians, and more. In past decades, most Americans weren’t privy to this information. We only saw the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians from a one-sided perspective fed to us by traditional media and [bias] politicians. We were made to believe that all Palestinians were terrorists and it’s now apparent that’s not true. However, the Israelis are still operating under the auspices of that false narrative. For example, they’re using that reasoning now to drop bombs and conduct operations without any regard for civilian lives. Anyhow, Americans do condemn the attack on Israel and the hostage taking, but a lot of us also condemn Israel’s response, specifically the inhumanity of their methods/strategy. For that reason, I think many of us do feel a certain way about US aid to Israel at the moment.

Israel has nuclear weapons. They’ll defend themselves just fine- with or without our help.
