Also yeah I should've probably at least talked about the Runick Variant beyond just mentioning the Prisoners as an engine. I'd rather not look at Runick Fountain more than I need to though.

Is it the “in the GY” on Harmonic unsuitable for the “on the field” in Venom’s materials text? Even if you could bring it out with the spell, if it wasn’t treated as a Fusion Summon it becomes like a vanilla venom.

The one noteworthy thing I remember you can do with Harmonic Synchro was a combo line some OCG players figured out when Rescue Hedgehog's effect was revealed. The combo in question made use of Red and Roxrose dragon, alongside the vanilla level 3 dragon, to at minimum bring in Synchro Muddragon for an easy Red Eyes Dragoon. And for an extra step, you can use Muddragon's effect to search Harmonic Synchro so you could also bring out Power Tool Braver Dragon with your Dragoon. Edit: I re-checked the source of the combo and Muddy Mudragon's effect, and realized the extra step is performed if you have Harmonic Synchro in hand, or a way to search it

The biggest crime of the Arc-V Earthbounds, aside from being more interested on Fusion than SYNCHRO for a SYNCHRO dimension archetype is completely abandoning the Nasca lines being actually used as their theme and instead just being general mythological monsters but silver lining I suppose is that it allows for the unused Nasca Lines to still be used for potential new-new-new-Earthbounds.

3:59 fun fact: HSF can't make Starving Venom. Starving Venom needs monsters on the field as material, and HSF checks for monsters that can be Fusion Summoned using the monsters *in the GY* Also means 1 DD Crow makes the card fizzle entirely.

Earthbound Runicks from my understanding have been seeing some success, cause you can use synchro fusion on Linewalker and Freki, they can also set up denglong, and use Vision Resonator to summon Baronn, fountain also fills in the field spell requirement

I was convinced that they would adapt Line Walker's effect by having it banish the opponent's monster, then special summoning it ignoring the summoning conditions. The printed effect is not guaranteed to summon a monster because it might be a nomi, which serves as good removal at least, but misses the point of triggering Kraken's effect.

Harmonic Synchro Fusion would've been so much better if it even just treated the summons as proper, instead of flat special summons. I do want to try fitting it into a Dogmatika deck, with Quem and Granguignol and Luluwalilith, just for the off chance I get to use it on Quem and Fleurdelis/Maximus to make both Granguignol and Luluwalilith onto the field at once. I will say that Line Walker's second effect does have some niche use cases: It removes all materials from an XYZ, since it'll come back with none It makes the monster returned and resummoned now no longer properly summoned, so your opponent can't do graveyard shenanigans with it later It gets rid of inherited effects like I:P Masq protection

Honestly I really like the Earthbound Servants. Yeah, they’re still not functional as a deck, but as a fan of big fusion boss monsters I like all the disruption they have. Kraken is REALLY good in the modern age and Geo Grasha has such a neat package of effects I’d be willing to summon it. I hope they get more support soon because they seem fun to play around with as a casual deck.

Earthbound Release is an Earthbound Immortal card from the 5D’s anime, it isn’t designed for these Earthbounds (it is also listed separately in the sets it’s in from those cards) Resonance is a 5D’s manga card that is mainly named as such to be a reference to the anime, being used by Goodwin/Godwin (whose anime counterpart uses the dragon in its art and the Earthbound Immortals)

@@goodpeople25 In 5D'S -From what I recall Accel Synchro appears out of nowhere. -There's barely any manga exclusive character developed since they clearly wanted to just use anime characters, even the Skeleton Knight ends up being Roman/Rodger Godwin. I remember there was a manga character that had a very stylized design, so I thought if they bother to give him such design he will be importante and/or have duels, but he was just background character that didn't even get a duel. You have a team Unicorn member in a non team tournament which makes you wonder if the team exist in that universe... The manga really tres to be like the anime while telling the new story

I faced a guy at my locals playing this. His first play was to summon the fish and attempt to activate its effect. I Impermed it and he passed. He surrendered as I began the Mannadium line. Round 2 was me drolling him, leading to another Mannadium line surrender. I offered a pity game 3 for deck practice and opened no hand traps. He preceeded to make a formidable board I couldn't find a way to break. My thoughts are: It can be powerful if your opponent has literally no interruptions (i.e., it's not very good).

You can't use Harmonic Synchro Fusion to summon Starving Venom Fusion Dragon. It checks the materials in grave... so those materials are not "2 DARK monsters on the field"... it's the same reason why you can't target Starving Venom to summon its materials back with Ultra Poly.

So I hadn't noticed before that Harmonic Synchro Fusion doesn't properly Fusion Summon or Synchro Summon (tells you I haven't really use it). But I will give it this over Ultra Polymerization - you're not SSing monsters from the GY to reuse, so that brings down your summon count if you're trying to be careful of Niburu. Or if a material wasn't properly summoned. Or if your field is clogged and you need to go from two monsters to two monsters, not from two to one to three to two. Just brainstorming the scenarios where HS and Ultra Polys would behave differently.

Plus one of their Links looks like Regulus (Heck in the TCG its name is Regulex) But for SOME REASON they DON'T have their own Synchro monster (Ib the World Chalice Justiciar doesn't count. aside from future support. one thing that would benefit the deck is making synchro fusion count as a proper fusion for earthbound monsters. it be a decent buff with out making it an anouhter magician souls.

I'm expecting a future part to be named "Immorality" (Update. Also expect future original Earthbound monsters that are also treated as Blackwings as a reference to the what-if scenario of what-if Crow was a Dark Signer)

These new Earthbound cards are so much fun to play with the new Yubel stuff. I highly recommend it as a silly OTK deck that uses a lot of burn damage and crashing!

I think these cards are a bit better than you give them credit for, yes as a standalone deck it crumbles to a lack of consistency and power, but they work fantastically in runick and resonator variants, runick earthbound in particular is a really cool deck with some interesting synergies that make the earthbound cards actually worth playing alongside runicks, it's honestly really cool for a deck that was originally super unplayable to have come so far with the right support.
