Schiavelli had such incredible presence. not just because of his height but how he carried himself in his roles. notice at 4:25 how he stands, he does it with such dignity, and he looks so strangely symmetrical

Supporting actors like Vincent, when you can see them in sooo many different roles and genres, really BECOME main actors in my eyes. Simply because of their sheer presence. Each time you see them in something else, completely unexpected, you CHEER in joy when you see a familiar face that has been with you since your childhood. :) *edit typo removed*

I guess it was kinda like you finding out about Vincent Schiavelli's Polizzi life. Love your afterword. I stumbled onto his cooking TV show and was mesmerized not so much by the recipes as by his warm, embracing manner of collaborating with his guest chefs. I happened to bump into him in a Los Angeles Ralphs supermarket (apparently before he moved to Italy) but I didn't dare say hello; you don't do that to famous people in LA lest you start a panic. Nevertheless, the non-encounter remains a memorable moment for me with a truly multi-talented man.

This is still one of my favourite episodes of your show and while I was glad to have it saved when it was deleted I’m glad it’s now up online again for others to see if they haven’t before. This series is probably one of the more underrated on KZbin but it’s one of my favourites because it comes from a place of love and is educational and interesting. As I became aware of what a character actor was this series became helpful in learning more about them but also these are just fun to watch and I can tell these come from a place of passion and interest for the subject matter. Anyway Vincent from my impression of this video before and as I re-watch it seemed like an interesting, kind and fun person to talk too. I would have been curious to see him go around the convention scene maybe do panels. His voice like you said was pretty memorable and while it’s probably not the most memorable episode he was a part of one of my favourite Batman the Animated Series episodes “Zatanna” where he played the aforementioned character’s father Zatara. Zatara is one of the oldest DC Heroes and his daughter Zatanna while she’s not one of the characters with big selling books she’s one who appears a lot and is one of my favourites so that’s mostly why I like it. He had another role in Hey Arnold besides the one you mentioned the other one being “The Pigeon Man” which apparently was one of the show’s memorable episodes. I never watched the show much when I was young. They brought the Pigeon Man back for the new Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie now played by a different actor but his character is credited as “Vincent the Pigeon Man” indicating they might have named the character after him later on which if true that’s pretty cool and the Jungle Movie also features a dedication to him in its credits showing they hadn’t forgotten him which again I think is cool. I later watched the documentary you mentioned and like you I found it interesting and again you can tell it came from a place of love. There’s apparently another documentary listed about him and his life in Polizzi but I don’t know if is the same documentary done differently or not. When I was still on Twitter I mentioned to you his son Andrea had made a documentary about his own journey to go back to Polizzi and reconnect with his routes. I said it wasn’t around anywhere maybe not even released yet officially and sadly that seems to be still the case. I hope it’s put out soon because watching the trailer it’d make a nice companion piece to this episode and just seeing some footage makes it look like it’ll be as personal as the Polizzi documentary. You can see some footage in this trailer here if anyone else is curious. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3bWnmWKp6eDoac Anyway I think that’s it for now but knowing me there’s stuff I’ve probably forgotten to mention. Also thanks for including the recipe video which I didn’t save and it was just as interesting and I hope to try it myself someday. Keep up the great work Brandon.
