Thanks for your reflections on the structure of this deck. Interesting to compare this deck and its system to the books and new deck from Nancy Hendrickson and Stacey Williams-Ng that was published this month - The Ancestral Tarot is her book and the Ancestral Magic is the deck. The brighter colors in the Ancestral Magic deck might also really appeal to you. I find Nancy’s approach to be much more understandable and more useful. Plus all the wings in this deck do not appeal to me. The Beloved Dead system seems more chaotic than Nancy’s approach and as you say the Beloved Dead deck is a mix of plain oracle and tool for ancestor work; I’d rather have one or the other. Just my thoughts! Thanks again for your diving into this deck in more detail - its been helpful!

Great video Lisa! Got my hands on this beauty yesterday. I just started doing some intentional ancestor work. Ive been struggling with it because of some awful ancestor energy. If you ever have issues with gilt edging, I have filed them off with an emory board in more than one case. It's not difficult. It's kind of like reverse edging.

I've been on the fence about this deck but maybe I'll pick up a copy. Randomly, I thought the figure in the Perception card looked like you and when you pulled the Love card, saw the little heart shaped stiches in the quilt Peggy made for you and had a giggle. Sneaky little love note.

This deck is fantastic. I've been gushing about it all over my channel since I got it 😂❤. I have used this deck for many readings, all intuitively. I used it as messages from ancestors, Spirit communication and it gives the best readings on current or past relationships. But mine is already chipping from a few weeks of use.

Correct it did come out with the independent version of The Relative Tarot but did not include the amazing guidebook or the chair and ouija card. I owned the Indie version but sold it and have purchased just The Beloved Dead oracle and think it is awsome!

So as far as I can tell, keywords were changed on several cards, the Acts of Love thing wasn't a thing that was obvious, and there was no book covering the Spirit Oracle. It looks like there might be a few new images or replacements for a few cards. This is on my list to pick up because I'm curious about what the book says. I wind up using the Spirit Oracle more than the tarot.

Ohhh this is nice. I should check this out for the queer ancestry work that I keep meaning to get back into. Seems open enough from the samples reading you gave to work really well with working with people in the past who aren’t related but who would still be wanting to help and give love due to common threads and hopes and dreams one can share with those in the past.

Hey Lisa! I factually discovered this deck through your video and decided to purchase it a few days ago. I want to start working with this deck however I have a question. I’m still very much in the “beginning” stages of my spiritual journey, specifically with exploring different journeys such as shadow work, inner child, ancestry work etc. I am a “baby witch” but this Oracle really called to me. There’s just one caveat, there’s an ouija card in the deck and while I know it’s just a card, I’m still not one hundred percent confident in my abilities to ground, ward off and close off myself to spirits with lower vibrational energies. So my question is, would you recommend either waiting until i am keeping that card part of the deck or Can I remove that one card, use the deck and then either add it back when that time comes? I kind of feel silly for asking about one card when the deck is literally about inviting in spirit and opening up a line of communication and wether or not a card is there or it’s not technically isn’t going to completely stop some unwanted visitors if my vibrations are not high enough but it will give me a bit more peace of mind and confidence working with this deck. I wanted to just ask you as you’re extremely knowledgeable and experienced and just wanted to get your take on the sit. Thank you in advance Lisa!

I am still conflicted on this deck. I am not really attracted to the look of old photography, but I can see how it works with the concept of this deck. I want to go deeper with Ancestral work, but I don't know how to go about it in a way that works for ME as well as THEM. Honestly, I'm still hashing out my perceptions of non-physical beings in general. This is probably on my list of decks to get for a purpose if found in-person. If it's meant foe my practice, it will find me at the right time. That being when I have the money in hand.😂

Same. I tried actual spirit communication and a low vibration entity started making me have bad sleep paralysis and a few other situations so I ceased any & all communication as well as some of the tools I used to do so (spirit box, evp voice recorder, emf detector and did a cleanse, protection & blessing. I did not protect myself the right way so I do know better now but I’m still weary-which is unfortunate because I do find this deck intriguing.
