@Judge_Jon8 жыл бұрын
The stock on it is $350, the suppressor is $800, add $200 for tax stamp if the suppressor is dedicated to this rifle which i doubt, the gun ~$200, SBR stamp $200, having the barrel cut down and threaded ~$40-100, Optic is $100, and AK pistol grip is about $20.
@DaveSmith-cp5kj8 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure he is quoting the "real" price as in most people who will probably replicate this without the illegal licencing. Silencers can be made from fence tube (homemade military grade suppressors book) for $10, threaded with TAT, hacksaw work, and ebay (airsoft to get that stock cheap).
@MFKR6968 жыл бұрын
+Dave Smith If you think using an airsoft stock on a real rifle, or making illegal suppressors out of inferior materials, are good ideas in the slightest, you should probably stay away from firearms altogether. You're clearly not smart enough to be trusted with a weapon. I sure as shit wouldn't want you backing me up where the metal meets the meat.

+Iraqveteran8888 Will you guys be running it through a chrony? I did a rough calculation for my 10.5 mosin and estimated that a max load behind a 123gr would be about on par with a 7.62x39 out of a 20in barrel. I plan on chronographing mine soon either way.

Why does everyone think mosins are highly inaccurate? You know the Red army used these as sniper rifles, right?
@mybananasareout8 жыл бұрын
The Russian army used Urals for messenger bikes and scouting. They had piston slap from the factory. Go buy yourself a Russian military surplus divers watch and take a shower... Or perhaps see if a Russian military surplus compass points north.
@frydemwingz8 жыл бұрын
justin casillas ...just because those things are shitty, doesn't mean ALL of their equipment sucks. They have FAMOUS snipers that used mosins, but they don't have famous messengers that drove Ural trucks or famous divers. Do you understand?
@mybananasareout8 жыл бұрын
+Jimmy Russels look man I own 3 mosins 1 m38 and 2 91's one a pre war hex receiver Tula. They are all in excellent condition but the one thing they have in common is a 4" group at 100m. I get slightly better accuracy with quality ammo but compared to my mausers, enfields, and my 03a3 they are crap. This is characteristic of an insane mass production, poor tolerances and forced production. I like mosins but you have to understand their limitations. Even my yugo Mauser with surplus ammo will consistently shoot 2.5" groups. The m38 is an unbeatable truck gun but mosins (Finnish rifles excepted) are not accurate guns.
@mybananasareout8 жыл бұрын
I shoot axis vs allies matches and the only mosins you see are the Finns. Generally 03's, k31's and 98's are your dominant rifles. Mainly the 03a3 because of its long sight radius and barley corn front sight blade. The k31 is the undisputed champ in terms of accuracy but it has a shorter sight radius thus is less precise. I am not a mosin basher, they are a functional infantry weapon that is fully capable of minute of man out to 300m. They go bang every time and travel in the general direction of the target, what more can you ask out of a rifle that costs less than my bar tab on a Saturday night.
@frydemwingz8 жыл бұрын
justin casillas Yes, of course. Everything you're saying is true, I wasn't saying these are better than expensive rifles you'd see at a shooting contest, they are cheaper for a reason, but still very functional. Also, i'll add while the russian mosin itself isn't the most accurate in the world, the biggest problem are the sights. Mine was at least. I put on my own sights and it's a big improvement.

I hate the Mosin (it's ugly), but I love the round it fires (it's massive)

Do this with a Mauser!
@mmmkeklol8 жыл бұрын
Mauser would probably wreck the mosin tho...

+mmmkeklol W-w-why would you wish that on an already perfectly created/built weapon such as the Mauser? You Animal! xD

It's one thing to do something like this to a rifle as common as this but doing that to a Mauser would be just stupid

+NitroNinja24 I was referring to the scout rifle. It is far superior to any military rifle. not putting down all military surplus rifles. But it cost a lot more than the Russian surplus rifle.

Why would you want stripper clips as opposed to a detachable magazine?

You can fold up some sheet metal to replace lost stripper clips, they're smaller when empty AND when full, easier to store a shitload of, cheaper, lighter, not as bad of a loss when you lose or damage them, etc. etc. etc. EDIT:: Shit, if you have a 3D printer that makes metal stuff, you could print racks and racks of stripper clips dirt cheap and sell them for up to $8 a piece maybe.
@ToyDirigible7 жыл бұрын
One could also learn to reload using a stripper clip just as fast if not faster than with a box magazine.

Very nice. People love to hate on the Mosin. I would submit it has fought in more conflicts, longer and still fighting today than any other rifle. Wikipedia has the list of conflicts, check it out. I own a 1943, 1934 91/30s and a 1930 Finnish M27. They all shoot very well, and holding them makes me wonder about where, who, when my rifles served. A very rich history and typical Russian, simple, tough and effective. You did a great job with your build, I love it. Subbed. 👍👍

+Rajbir Dhadda dude the mosin is shit. even these guys know that. aside from the m39 finnish variant and maybe a couple other finnish variants, nobody takes them seriously in the gun world.
