9 idiots gave this guy a thumbs down? WTF! Love, love, love classic ski boats. Never owned a Supra, but countless Nautiques, Malibus, and Mastercrafts. Even a Supreme. Did the stringers in a '78 Mastercraft. Won't do that again. Kudos to you for a great video.

This is truly the way I wished all "Rehab" videos should be done. Informative, learning points and stumbling blocks, makes me want to see more from your projects. I think you are even capable of "deeper dives" into the parts or pieces and most importantly why you did or didn't do something. Great Job!!!

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed. I wish I had filmed / documented more of the process as well, I need someone to film lol. It takes more time up than expected, and when summer was fast approaching priority was getting the boat in the water.

Nice restoration ... I have a 25 year old Malibu I am starting the restoration first step is replacing all rubber hoses and I am wondering about connection at pitot pickups, there is a nut. Do I just pull on hose to take it apart or will I break something. Did you do that sort of thing on this boat and is there a video?
@odyssey350kc2 жыл бұрын
I didn't take mine off, but I know the hoses are tough to get off sometimes, they get brittle. If there is enough extra hose, you may want to slice it off then cut off the end.

www.ebay.com/itm/252663178154 Black tip jetsports out of florida. Found it was cheapest on ebay. I had to cut out the pieces from a large roll of material, but i have enough extra to put foot pads on my trailer now too.

Bravo! This only 1/4 way in and I know this was a very extensive project. I have a Supra boat myself, are there any dimensions published anywhere for all the components you re-built? (Or perhaps should I say replicated?) I'd like to do a good rebuild of mine too.
@odyssey350kc2 жыл бұрын
No, I really just took the old seats apart and traced the wood onto new sheets of plywood and Nailed it all back together.
@michaelfantin46714 жыл бұрын
Looks awesome, I have a 1989 supra comp. I also need to repair a couple soft spots in my floor. Did you just cut out the bad spots and patch with new wood and then fill the voids with resin?
@odyssey350kc4 жыл бұрын
I actually cut out the majority of the floor you walk on, poured in new foam before screwing the wood down, and fiberglassed over the top of it all. Had I known that the soft spots were just where the previous foam was poured i probably would have just patched those small holes, but then again I would not have been able to remove all the waterlogged foam.

Hi Keith! I have a opportunity to but a 92. I was wondering if you guys ever tried wake boarding or surfing behind it? Curious on how the wake is?! Thanks!
@odyssey350kc2 жыл бұрын
Yes, both. I don't have much to compare it to because I've never been behind a real "wake boat", but I put 1 ballast bag in the rear locker and one on the floor beside the motor to list the boat, and made my own wake shaper and you can surf if you get just the right speed. Keep the ballast bags in while wakeboarding to throw a slightly bigger wake.

Great job! I did this kind of work in 1999, using a Consew walking foot. The TS6M had rotomolds except the observer frame. Curious what kind of thread and needles do you use on that Brother? (I now do similar work on a free arm Kenmore and 1960’s White using Sailrite, Sgt. Knots, and sometimes WL Gore)
@odyssey350kc3 жыл бұрын
Thank you.. Thread was UV Resistant High Strength Polyester Thread #69 T70 Size 210D/3. I got on amazon for $7, and the needle was whatever came on the machine. I don't really know much about sewing just what I learned from a couple KZbin videos.

Amazing job!! I just bought an 87 and it has some of the same stuff wrong with her that you had. Interior will need to be done sometime soon and old decal stains are visible. How did you go about buffing them out?
@odyssey350kc3 жыл бұрын
That was one of the tougher parts. I had to wetsand them out then compound the hull. The whole process took me over 10 hours to do.

Do you have any advice on removing the seats? I recently bought a similar make and model, but I am having trouble removing the seats to take them to the upholstery shop.
@odyssey350kc2 жыл бұрын
It's been a while. I know most of them were held in by screws in the compartments behind the seats. The rear seat was just held in with friction. Just try to find and screws and give a tug, if they don't budge you probably missed a screw

How much did all the materials and everything cost? I also have a 1988 Supra Comp ts6m and I’m thinking of restoring some of the parts.
@gustavoreynoso68494 ай бұрын
I got a 1987 ts6m this weekend and I’m thinking the same I’m just thinking on reupholstering the seats, redoing the carpet, wet sand it and polishing it, replacing the front rubber pads in the nose and in the board in the rear, and fixing the audio system in it. Can’t wait to see the outcome
@erichschark55383 жыл бұрын
Can you please explain how you removed the back seat? Was it just screwed into the back storage compartment at the top of the seat or are there screws or bolts on the sides? Thanks!
@odyssey350kc3 жыл бұрын
My back seat was not secured at all, which I guess is how they came from the factory. It is just held in by friction.

I'd like to put a tower on my boat but I'm scared it would ruin the esthetic, how do you install a skylon pole?
@odyssey350kc2 жыл бұрын
I got mine used, it just slides over your existing ski pylon and there is a wrap that hooks around the front. I did have to modify my existing pylon slightly to work. I had to cut off the nubs on the side and make a plastic sleeve at the top to keep it tight. It is supposed to just slide right on most modern pylons though.
@professordogwood89852 жыл бұрын
@@odyssey350kc Oh fantastic! If restoring boats becomes a new hobby that would be a useful purchase, I could just swap the pole from boat to boat.
