I rarely comment on videos, but... I'd like to express my appreciation to the quality and scale of these casts. I've been a big fan rtses that spun off from TA, y'know, Planetary annihilation, BAR, along with some starcraft 2, and ultimately like... something about FAF has stuck with me. The game is good, even if i'm not the best at it, and so much of my appreciation for the game comes from gyle. His jokes make me laugh, and the casts are simultaneously cozy, during the intros (mellow yellow, cyanide cyan, ferrari red...) yet also exciting and interesting, with of course the odd tangent sprinkled in. Thank you for your content, and i hope that this community can continue to thrive in the years to come!

Agree! Mongoose Ghetto gunship sounds cool. interesting game. When I saw Foley going for 3 gun upgrades back to back so early I got excited! but then nothing happened! That was sad. I love to see this kind of aggressive Commander usage that we got later on in the game too.

Been watching a lot of FAF matches by Strategic Launch (he releases everyday early morning). However the casts are about random and any or all matches that are being played out there. That's good too. But if you want very specific, tasteful, quality casts that would leave a mark, think Gyle is the place to come to. It's good that everyone is posting more FAF contents and by no means Strategic Launch is doing a bad job at it, but Gyle's Epic casts and few other ones are always worth watching..

To be fair, Gyle has had a LOT of practice. He hasn't always been quick or efficient at using split screen. He still manages to miss major air battles though... while covering air XD.

@@r3dp9 Correct. Thing is, Strategic Launch goes into resource and details on strats. Gyle does not do it. However Gyle's cast is fun to listen to and you know whatever he picks tends to have some unexpected (mostly) endings. On the other hand if you want to learn a bit more from watching, Strategic Launch is a good choice. Overall we need SL and Gyle alongside few others who are popping up on YT recently to do more casts on FAF. More is better. Specially for a game like this that is imo the pinnacle of RTS game.

God, that was such a turnaround. I thought T2 was gone, they'd lost air superiority, they'd lost the naval war, they were getting routed on the ground and forward operating bases on their main continent. And then the Scathis dropped, that nuke took out his core base, T1 squandered their air advantage and the northern defenses held for just long enough.

@@1987retroman why would you nerf a land unit so it works in navy? The DPS and direct fire is insane and a massive health pool compared to other naval units. Have you ever used it against Navy on your shore? It slaps.

@@TwitchyMofo I agree with you about the healthpool, but just make it super slow in the water. It costs about the same as the Tempest and does twice the DPS but less than half the range. It would essentially fill the role of meat shield in the late game navy game which cybran could really use, but could still be kited by battleships and vulnerable to naval bombers.

im still suprised that on this map all the "good" players still havent figured out that if all sac some resources into front land player he can litterly rush an extremly early T2 factory and build 10 T2 units rush down mid and take out enemy fron player and set up shop in the middle and win the game from there. maybe we see that someday when the player of this game evolve a bit more into team play.

10 t2 units just get overcharged by an acu. The reason this doesnt work is that 5 t2 pf effectively shut down all t2 tank pressure, since the path in the middle is so narrow. I think pooling mass into t3 air / gunships could be more promising, but I hope that never happens, as that would make games boring as hell

@@themoonrider351 if thats "boring" or not doesnt matter if you wanna win, you play the best you can do, no one tries to put up a watchable show, they wanna win and how they gonna win and to figure out how to counter that is one of the beatuy's of RTS games. but seeing the same "oh yes transport along edge suprise attack" that is boing to me because you have seen this hundreds of times and it seems as no one learns to place 1-2 anti air turrets to prevent it, it almost looks like toddlers that are suprised by mirrors, i only hope that they do evolve soon enough to see some more team involving strategies instead of 6 players all have their own battle. in this video and for this map you always see drops to side islands with absolutley no anti air and then you wonder, investing into 2-3 turrets are a far better investment than cleaning up and rebuilding a half destroyed base.

@@Votexforxme Go play against the good players and show us replays of you doing this strategy, we could all do with a laugh. As for the drops, there was multiple t1 anti air on the side island, Wheelie came in on a t2 transport which has a bit more hp.

Often though, you see that stuff that works well on paper doesnt work in real games as every strategy has unforseen downsides.
