Very clear explanation sir. I am a ST aspirant sir. In my village, 95% of the youth would either choose to go to Kerela to work in factories, or work as farmers. At an extreme, the ones that are little educated as much as 10th or 12th, they would prepare to join as jawans/constables in the army. Their brain is wired to think their limit within these options. They do not even realize that they can think beyond that, as their parents are also uneducated and financially challenged. But there are just 1/2 families which are doctors, professors.

You can't bring equality by imposing inequality. Work has to be done at grassroots level. Creamy layer at all quotas should be considered.

I think reservation should be based on economic status and not on historical background because the sole objective of reservation is to uplift the underprivileged and economically backward. And in case of historical and social challenges, a person having a good economic background is always treated better than a poor person no matter which caste they belong to and yes subclassification can be a good way to bridge the gap of the reservation system but not the ultimate solution as we can also see the difference of economic status in one particular sub classified group as well. And thank you sir for your detailed analysis.

In my town I have seen there are harijan community doing the same work generation after generation though they have reservation but still couldn't avail it's benefits and come out from social injustice. Yes this problem prevails in our country that some are getting benefits and doing better while some are still struggling. Thanks to SC for this landmark judgement .Absolutely Equals should be treated equally and unequals should be treated unequally. Thank you Sir ji!

One is from general cast and monthly income is 8lkh per anum..live in a toota futa quarter.. another one is ST and monthly income is 12lkh per anum and have their businesses... They live in big budget house.. Past ki basis pe abhi Jo ho rhaa h wo takleef deta h.. economy per individuals in a family yee base hona chahiye.. Naa ki only govt jobs..

Yes i agree economically some sc,st n backward classes are improving...but the other aspect i.e. socially they are still behind, brahmins or higher caste people still are not willing to acknowledge everyone equal they will always have casteism on their mind.... won't marry any lower caste person or go eat at their home.

First of all thankyou sir for making such quality contents available free to us and following unbiasedness in your views and opinions which our media outlets fails to pertain in our country. Sir I have had seen many underprivileged people belonging to SC/ST communities still struggling to meet their basic requirements of life struggling everyday but at the same time I have seen many families where each family member holds Grade A, B level government jobs or at least wealthy enough and enjoys this reservation policy from their 3 to 4 generations. The only yardstick would be the income level, its high time to make a creamy layer in this category too otherwise we and our constitution is not serving justice and will keep doing. This are my personal opinions and feel our honorable Supreme Court is heading towards a justice if they do it now otherwise it will be too late. The govt and the parliament will not mandate it and I know their reasons, the reasons being that they they will no longer enjoy this reservation sweet in election where they get vote in the name of caste and community and they have to compete in a fair election where only every unprivileged SC/ST deserves a SC/ST seat and not them. Our country is the only country now where if born a SC/ST is a blessing for the child where a General Unreserved candidates or even OBC's earning just a little above 8 lacs consider 8 lacs 1 rupees a year are left with all the competition in their hands. All apart thanks again to your team and you for making Right to education free for all sir, blessing from the bottom of my heart sir because your and Satayajit sir's videos are daily ladders supporting my journey.

To be true the overall happiness of the general population depends on its economic status. Those who are financially stable appears to be more happier than those who are in poverty, so hence proved, reservation is needed but only on the basis of financial stability rather than historical reasons because if some ones ancestors were historically abused due to their cast and if they are rich now they will oviously be happier , as now they can afford anything and have access to improved lifestyle, historical reasons can never be the basis of reservation because if we compare the lifestyle of someone who is in poverty with someone who is a SC but is rich then its ovious that the person in poverty is suffering more at present.

It doesnt always meant that paticular caste/tribe is financially stable or had those privileged and doesn't always meant that all people/member of same caste/tribe had received those privileged or are financially stable. Before implementing those sub classification in Sc or St govt should take step wisely. India is diverse and all the state have different culture, tradation and different problem. Hope and pray to God that india doesnt turned into neighbouring country.

In Tanti tantwa case also supreme court declared that the consideration of this community by the state of Bihar is violation of article 341..it's malafide And here same supreme court is allowing the state to decide for the subclassification of sc casts 😕 Although jisko bhi subclassification karni ho, subclassification jaruri hai .. .like creamy layer in obc Thank you sir for such detailed video

1- No SC/ST are not homogenous. 2- Social Stratifications have to be dealt in social institutions and public gatherings so that people develop a sense of open-mindedness and accept individuals as fellow human being and not based on caste. As per my opinion, historically injustice was done to SC as a whole,not to sub castes separately.So,this time also SC should be treated as one class.But economic earning can b made a criteria for availing the reservation. But sub classification is not justifiable.

Q1- No SC/ST are not homogenous, some classes are way ahead of others. Still many SC/ST people are there who genuinely need greater reservation for themselves to come out of the situation they are living in right now. Q2- SC/ST sub classification can be done by determining some parameters where the development among the people of this community can be measured. Development can be seen by the number of people from different communities who are working in different govt/private jobs. If it is seen that a particular community has more number of people employed in different establishments and they are well to do both economically and socially irrespective of the historical hurdles they had to face then the sub-reservation for such categories is necessary, so that more focus can be given on the upliftment of the other communities. Q3- Yes it is a must to have Creamy/Non Creamy layer concept for SC/ST

I agreed with your nos 2. But suppose your caste/tribe belong to "sarma" and it doesn't mean that all the "sarma" will have same privilege as other sarma( there will be many or some poor sarma, what about those sarma ? Because of all sarma are rich doesn't mean that all sarma will be rich! Then what will happen to those sarma? I will request and hope that before implementing this sub classification, they should bring into those concerned.
