Here is what needs to happen. 1. Modify college required courses so the student only takes courses linked to their degree 2. Get rid of degrees that have an average salary less than $75k. Degrees that will only make less than $75k should be moved to a 2 year degree so the debt required vs potential income match. 3. Classes that are taken for fun or not tied to degree should not be required and can only be paid by the student in cash and not part of their loan. Reasons. There are too many degrees that students complete with debt of $50k plus but will only max out at $50k. This doesn’t make sense and is a huge problem to these students going into debt with no option to make enough to pay it off while also buy a home and other necessary things. I saw a degree focused on park management. It is for those that want to work as a park ranger. The school providing this charge $25k a year. The average salary of a park ranger is between $30-50k a year. So a student could go into major debt for a low paying job. This doesn’t make sense and is taking advantage of these young students. This can be done in one year for a small percentage of the current cost and the student can then get a job as a park ranger. If we get rid of non sense classes not tied to the students degree will cut costs. My major was international business. I have never had any interest in biology. So why did I have to take this class when I can take another economics class or statistics class that I find really interesting and useful for my career. If we cut these classes down, we can replace them with more classes tied to the degree. So now we will have students more prepared for the work place of their desired interest. Overall, the student is responsible for their student loans. Choose a field that will be worth the investment. High school was designed to give us a wide range of knowledge that will hopefully help the students know what they want to pursue when they graduate. College is to help us prepare for the specific job we want. An accountant doesn’t need to take classes like biology or chemistry. A future doctor doesn’t need to take a class to learn about marketing, etc. Just my opinion from my experiences.

Also I must say, the government should not be handing out student loans. You're subsidizing complete inefficiency and recklessness in the universities. And the government wastes so much with these programs. It ruins everything it touches. The government should not be in the loan business, much less student loans!

But we will always be a few of America's most dishonest and despicable professionals, lawyers, away from a USSC which will go back to ignoring the Constitutional LIMITS the Founders created to keep government in check. If these were honest people who did their very simple job of following OUR rule book then it would not matter one iota who occupied the WH nor who held the majority in the US Senate when an appointment was made. Can anyone say we can ignore the party in power when a USSC appointment is made? Of course not because again these are America's most dishonest professionals, lawyers.

THANK GOD. Hardworking taxpayers should not be forced to pay off student loans ( most of whom are taught to hate America and everything it stands for)......especially burdensome for low income taxpayers. Individual graduates making up to $124,499.00 /yr and couples earning up to $249,999.00/ yr could have had their loans forgiven. HEH LOW and MIDDLE INCOME TAXPAYERS, LET THAT HIT YOU. YOU WERE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY OFF THE LOANS OF THOSE EARNING MORE THAN YOU .....CERTAINLY ENOUGH TO PAY OFF THEIR OWN LOANS. THE LOAN FORGIVENESS PLAN WAS A DISGUSTING ATTEMPT TO BUY YOUNG VOTES. PERIOD.
