Congress can't defund the ATF or any agency under the DHS umbrella. They would have to defund the entire umbrella. Congress already tried to partially defund the ATF for blatant overreach. At the same time, they increased funding for other DHS agencies. DHS just redistributed the funds. With the creation of the DHS, the White House gained control over those agencies and Congress lost oversight. That was a huge power grab by one branch of our government. We have George W. Bush and his buddies (Clintons, Obama, Biden) to thank for that.

Great point. Wonder if congress can limit the legal appeals fund for the ATF. Like no more than 100K a year may be used for legal defense. Better what is the average salary in the US. that should be the cap amount. We don't have unlimited funds why should they be allowed to use lawfare against the people?

The ATF says builders are "circumventing" the 1968 GCA. I say they are in "compliance" with it because the 1968 GCA does not require serialization of home made firearms. It would seem then that it is the ATF that is circumventing the law in its ongoing and improper usurpation of legislative authority.

If I were to complete an 80% lower & live within the laws that currently cover them, I am not allowed to sell it ever. The only ways that a completed 80% lower can leave my possession is if I will it to my family after I'm dead.
