The train strike in the UK reminds me of the story where Japanese bus drivers went on strike but they still drove their routes. They just let the commuters/riders ride for free. That way the people who relied on the buses to get to school/work weren't inconvenienced but the bosses and CEOs weren't making anything.

as for Roe v. Wade, it should be up to the citizens of each state to decide and not the Federal government. That is what was overturned. It's not fair for somebody to work a full-time job but not be able to make ends meet, especially when your bosses make millions in profits. If you can't afford to live then what's even the point of working? You only work so that you can live. That's why it's called "making a living, right". SO TRUE

@@riddlesjackstorm9003 It's probably not that easy to get a bettet paying job whenever you feel like it, or to get the funds to start your own company when you're not even getting enough pay to live on. It can also be hard to afford loans to study to get a higher prestige job. If only a few companies gave their employes unlivable wages, those comapnies would perhaps eventually die out if people were able to find other, better employment. If it's the norm to pay such low salaries, you don't really have many options. I would also say that it's unfair to expect there to be people who provide us with certain services in society, but then also say that these people, who work full time, don't deserve a pay they can live on. Then you are relying on there being people to exploit. For example: why should the person who makes food for others not deserve to eat as well? Since the Supreme Court has struck down NY law and declared that laws should be based on consistency with historical precedent, then the obvious precedent is; when the second amendment was written, there was no such thing as repeating firearms, or semi-auto or automatic firearms. So let's stick with historical precedent. Everybody gets to carry firearms that comply with weapons available when the Constitution was written. Single fire weapons, without rifling, no semi-auto or automatic weapons. HISTORICAL CONSISTENCY.

While a few citizens challenged the bans in court, most lost. Winkler, in his book Gunfight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in America, points to an 1840 Alabama court that, in upholding its state ban, ruled it was a state's right to regulate where and how a citizen could carry, and that the state constitution's allowance of personal firearms “is not to bear arms upon all occasions and in all places.” -- Historical Precedent. So let's go ahead and argue about which historical precedent stands... and don't forget get about the total carry bans in frontier towns .. Dodge City, Tombstone etc.. As he got older he decided he couldn't take the beatings anymore and applied for a handgun permit and was denied. I guess he didn't grease the right person. But it all worked out because he did retire and move to Florida where they did grant him a concealed weapons license. The 250 yr old document was made in faith of a future that would be inevitable. That is: government being overbearing to its people. The issue of firearm violence is what is not covered by the bill of rights. So, this leaves a problem in which a solution can not be practiced without great distrust in the people. Its not that one argues that removing guns will not stop firearm violence. It will. /However/, it compromises a right iterated by the document, which was made in faith that this would ensure people have leverage in their government.

@@ronaldomontora2449 If you would do some research and not simply rely on the talking heads, you would realize that slavery in the Americas was established by the King of England.. Our founding Fathers inherited this atrocity.. Jefferson Thomas boldly explained to “who at the time” was his King, that slavery was wrong!! And that the King alone was responsible for it to have even existed in the United States.. The only reason that this wasn’t in the document we know as the Declaration of Independence, was the fact that the States of Georgia and South Carolina would not agree with the other eleven States.. When your breaking away from the King of England you cannot show any devisions in your ranks… Our founding Fathers were indeed far better persons than you or me….

The constitutional right state that : "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." For some reason, this is interpreted by some people as an individual right completely disjointed from its purpose : making well regulated militias a thing.

The reason that requiring a "special reason" is unconstitutional is because it if that law remains then who decides what is "special"? In California the police department somehow keeps giving the conceal carry liscences with special reason to super wealthy people only. That creates inequality with the person that isn't rich, and lives in a super dangerous neighborhood..

Just out of pure curiosity here, but what about open carry? Isn't the point with concealed carry to hide the fact you have a gun, to "conceal" it on your person? And what need would a person have that would require the concealment of the gun if they could openly carry it? Does NY have laws preventing open carry and that's why concealed carry is so important? This isn't a gotcha. This is a legit question. The only time I carry a small knife on my person (2" blade) is for utility and it's only hidden by the fact that it's too small to hang on a hip so it goes in a pocket. Which would be a weird argument with a gun.

@@warrenburke4241 Judicial Review is my point. They have the right of Constitutional Interpretation. That's literally what the Constitution says. By the definition within the Constitution they really technically can't do anything unconstitutional. That's why they're careful with their decisions. Dozens of time throughout US history this argument has been discussed by the Justices themselves. Now, if an interpretation of the government doesn't work with people the it's up to the Legislature to change it.
