So, the Supreme Court "vacated" a ruling as "moot", since the mandate was rescinded. Unfortunately, the effects of the mandate were not vacated. The harms to the people who died, were disabled or injured, were fired, or resigned because of the mandate was not "vacated". They were not restored. These deaths and injuries are not moot. Perhaps Congress could represent the people, and pass a LAW that bans the "vacating" of an individual's right to bodily autonomy.

I got fired in 2021, lost my pay, my retirement, my professional license, 28 year’s worth of personal materials at work, my employer subsidized housing, and a lifetime of personal possessions, anything that didn’t fit in my car. The Case could have been: 'Should a company be able to force a person to participate in Russian Roulet?' as the facts show a statistical possibility of serious harm from taking untested drugs. That happened here in Canada when our Constitutional Freedom groups took the Canadian Federal Gov't to court for breach of the Canadian constitution. When the Covid restrictions were lifted the Federal Gov't argued the law suit moot because the restrictions were no longer in effect - basically ducking responsibility. This ruling is terrible! No person or company or government should force you to take a medicine . The problem is that we don't know if the medicine is safe and will not harm us . Rather than be sorry at this, what it should do is cause every voter to vote to replace every representative who failed to oppose the mandates. Sadly, hoping the people at the top will make the right decisions is less effective than choosing people to enforce the best laws we have: the ones that protect our equal inalienable rights from violation, and nullify the laws and actions that violate them. The people at the top will always get there by running to the front of parades we start, but power corrupts.

P.S. Sometimes rulings like this have consequences that are good: in this case, the government may find recruiting new workers harder to do, and especially military recruitment of women and men of child rearing age. The military could insist on having no mandates on the grounds of national security. Certainly we have already felt the effects on the current races for president, but that position, while it reveals how people feel to some degree, is not as important as keeping out or removing power-drunk bureaucrats and members of Congress, and requiring them to control the executive (President is there to execute the actions required by the law of the people, not wave his magical hand and make it all better.)

This isn't as bad as it sounds. Lawyer here. The Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over a case if it is moot. The mandate in question was already withdrawn by the time it got to the court for review. They aren't saying, "mandates are ok." They're just saying, "this mandate doesn't exist anymore so legally we can't rule on it." I know we'd like them to rule on it even though its been shot down, but that is legislating. They can only rule on ongoing cases. The legislator needs to step in and say no more OSHA (that would end the ability to mandate through OSHA), haha.
