I've been getting a lot of negative feedback about how long this video is, so if this "Unboxing" video is too long, you can watch at 1.25X, 1.5X, or 2X speed, or simply skip ahead to 5:05 which is when the package is opened (Or both). I wanted to show how well this plane is packed, and if I just had it opened at the beginning, what good is the unboxing? I don't even understand why anyone watching an Unboxing video would complain about wasted time??? This is a video of me opening a box..........it is THE definition of wasting time. I hope you enjoy it, but if you're gonna be late to work, maybe you can just come back to this video later. Thanks for reading the description, since I may have already answered your question :) One more thing...I have lots a videos of this plane flying, and showing how I modified it, so this video is just to showcase the care of packaging, and to elaborate on my "special" yellowing glue issue, which was reported to me when I bought it.

I'm really amazed how (because of the scale) the roughness of the blacktop does not cause issues with the plane. At scale those cracks are like bomb craters. If I invested that money and time in that aircraft, as it approached every crack in the pavement I'd be really squeamish. Seemed to handle it well tho.

This one really does a great job on the bumps and cracks, given it's very scale looking landing gear, and relatively high stall speed.

Yeah, but you could also mask, and spray paint, if you prep the surface first with Polycrylic (Water based polyurethane...)

The wings for the a330 is larger in real live as well, the exhaust nozzle is the APU (Alternative Power Unit) it does nothing to exhaust the plane at all, it just provides the plane with power until engines are started and after engine shut down.

I didn't realize there was a difference in wingspan, but at about 3.15 m or about 5% larger on the A340 line (60.30 m to 63.45 m), it's not a huge factor. This plane still pretty close to scale (barring consideration that I made mine into a fictitious A330-600). I can't figure out why you're talking about the APU in reference to this video. I did a video showcasing some extra details I added to represent the APU on this model airplane, but that's a later video. Not that it matters, but I know what the APU is, and how it's used, to power things such as the AC, and to help start main engine(s), etc while the mains are not running. It's like a generator for the plane, when it's not plugged in at the terminal. It CAN be used in flight in the event of emergency to keep the fly by wire and hydraulic systems, etc running. For the record, it does produce forward thrust, in the form of exhaust gasses expelled to the rear of this and other Airbus airliners, but it's not enough to make a large impact on the plane...IE, you couldn't take off, but if the mains all shut down, the pilot will be glad for the extra "Boost" to their gliding plane! P.S. I don't know if it was your intention to come across this way, but it really gets old having people jump onto a single of my 440+ videos to "correct" me on a subject that I hadn't even touched on. It's kinda impossible to address every detail, of every item, on every video.

Does it have a receiver already because I have to modify the unit for more channels to add new features and also is it okay to remove the engine nacelle and replace it aside from that the stock engine will be replaced into a powerful EDF engine. Thanks for the unboxing review it can help a lot.

It's a PNF (Plug and Fly) so you can do any receiver that binds to your transmitter, and you can replace the EDF's if you wish. Good luck lance!

Unfortunately no. I wish you could get this and the A320, but they kinda do a limited run from what I can gather. It's kinda frustrating too, since the A320 and A330 are really sweet planes. Supreme-Hobbies has really made a gem here, and you wouldn't believe the feedback I've gotten about it. I want a Boeing 777 and 787, and an MD80, and a 737, and the list goes on and on... They are offering an Airbus A330 MRRT, which is a refueling airliner style plane, right now.

This is a reply form below, with updated remarks... It's made by a Chinese company called Supreme-Hobbies (website is under construction for about 2 years now), and it's distributed through one of a couple Chinese companies called RC-Castle.com and/or Hobby-Paradise.com...which seem to be owned by the same outfit, but I'm not sure of that. This model hasn't been available for well over a year, because they had a "defective yellowing glue" (which I found to be very minimal...) and I believe they decided to stop sales as a result, or they just simply sold out. Either way, I literally hounded the guy for a whole weekend, after months of asking to get him to sell it to me. There are A320's available, as I've seen them in stock. I have several good videos of my Airbus A320, which was an excellent plane, but it has since been crashed, and I've not had funding to repair and continue my video extravaganza! This is a plane that was much easier to transport, and much smaller, about 1/3 or so the size of the one in this video.

Yeah, do that. There's a bunch of the A320 videos on my channel. FYI, I bought my Airbus A320 from Hobby-Paradise.com, and I bought the Airbus A330-600 from RC-Castle.com. Both web sites had the plane to me in less than 5 days. The A320 was $56 shipping and the A330-600 was $65 shipping. Also, don't forget you'll need a receiver, as the model is a plug and fly. I'd highly recommend the Lemon-RX 7 Channel with stabilization and dual diversity antenna, if you are running a Spektrum transmitter, since the Lemon-RX lineup is DSMX.

I bought it at RC-Castle.com They are back available and in stock! The receiver I will eventually install in a later video is available at Lemon-RX.com. I use a Spektrum (Horizon Hobby) DX-18 Gen1, DSM2/DSMX programmable 18 channel transmitter (but you don't need that much of a transmitter for this plane - I uses to use the DX8 just fine), which is available at Horizonhobby.com, but I got mine from another online retailer when the GEN1's were made unavailable on HorizonHobby.com. The lipo batteries I use are 4000mAh 4S 60C packs, which are available at Hobbyking.com. Hope this info helps! I love the plane, and it is BEAUTIFUL!' P.S. P. McGuire My transmitter is a Spektrum DX18, which uses DSM2/DSMX. The Reciever, with built in stabilization, is made by Lemon-RX. It's called a 7 channel with stabilization DSMX dual diversity antenna end pin reciever, and it is compatible with my DX18 and virtually any Specktrum transmitter. They work GREAT and are much less costly then their Spektrum, name brand, counterparts. I'd HIGHLY recommend them, if you can get everyhing done with the available channels... Lemon-RX.com Super cheap shipping too!

I didn't paint it, except for small touch ups to cover up the servos, and for repairs to superficial damage after a few light crashes. I did clear coat it in a later video. I prefer the looks of the A330 to the A340, plus the A330 was cheaper and simpler. The A340 has 4 EDF's and it also has a single "buggy" wheel, so it's more complex...I think the A330 is all sold out right now :(.... Either plane is excellent! P.S. I actually think the A320 is the most practical since it's so easy to transport, but the A330 / A340 come as a better overall value, including led's and flaps stock! Hope this is helpful - but really, it's just what do you like best (Is it too much to ask for BOTH??? LOL)

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Horizon Hobby doesn't make this plane. It's made by a Chinese company called Supreme-Hobbies (website is under construction for about 2 years now), and it's distributed through one of a couple Chinese companies called RC-Castle.com and/or Hobby-Paradise.com...which seem to be owned by the same outfit, but I'm not sure of that. This model hasn't been available for nearly a year, because they had a "defective yellowing glue" (which I found to be very minimal...) and I believe they decided to stop sales as a result, or they just simply sold out. Either way, I literally hounded the guy for a whole weekend, after months of asking to get him to sell it to me. There were rumors of a possible production run late July 2016, but I haven't seen stock of the airbus A330, or it's big brother the Airbus A340... ...HOWEVER... There are A320's available, as I've seen them in stock. I have several good videos of my Airbus A320, which was an excellent plane, but it has since been crashed, and I've not had funding to repair and continue my video extravaganza! This is a plane that was much easier to transport, and much smaller, about 1/3 or so the size of the one in this video. At one point, Horizon Hobby, which is an Illinois based company, marketed a commercial airliner through one of it's plane lines called "E-flite" called "Super Airliner 777", but that plane has been discontinued for YEARS. The Airbus A330-300 is real, but the A330-600 is fictional... The manufacture of this model also sells an Airbus A340-600 (real), so they've included the extra lengthening fuselage pieces to make this A330-300 (real) into an A330-600 (fake). I thought the A330-600 was real due to my lack of initial investigation. There were some spoof pictures that I'd been finding consistently, but then realized later, they were in fact spoofs. Evidently Airbus fans were always annoyed that the 330-600 was never made because the Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 plugged the market hole.

I'm sot sure if you've seen some of my more recent videos about the A330-600, but I ended up using a clear coat, which really seems to help if dirty is the issue you're having. In my experience, it's rash from the most recent crash!

Yes, I have even used lacquers on foam. The propellant in spray is what damages the foam. You can air-brush or brush on any enamels . I do a lot of hanger rash and crash repair on foam. Also if you go to Home Depot they have a "Light weight" spackle for patching. This stuff feels like an empty container when you pick it up. A friend of mine taught me several techniques for repairing foam airplanes. He has been in the hobby since 1970! I was almost ready to give up on foam a few years ago, and now when I make repairs you can't even tell. We even save foam food trays to use for repairs. This guy pulled a foam mustang out of the trash at the flying field brought it home and repaired it. I watched him hit a light pole at the park (Full speed) and turn that thing into a snow shower! He took the pieces home ,fixed it and flying it again.

I used an spray can of varathane, and it didn't cause any issues. I wonder if there's a specific propellant that causes the damage? I've never tried the light weight Spackle, except for repairing drywall. I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks for the comments!

Yes, the servo and nav lights are installed. I added some logo lights on the tail and wing/nacelle inspection lights to dress it up furthermore. You DO have to hook up the wires from the respective LED's to the controller box, which is a bit of a chore, and wait till you get it, vague is the name of the game with instructions...but you can muscle through it...SWEET plane!

+Sébastien Compagnone With stabilization, It flies very well. Get the CG spot on before trying to fly. Don't try and roll too soon, get ample speed and then pull back. When landing, with full landing flaps, the angle of attack will be pretty steep, but right before touch down, even if you idle down from your base legg to 15 foot from ground, make sure you run up the edf's and keep 30% power or you'll never be able to get power in time for corrections. Don't try to flare...you'll tipstall it for sure....fly it into the groung FLAT as yoy can get it, and it's gotta be one of the most rewarding sticks if you get one. Good luck!

Yes, and you get to choose when you want to turn them on and off. I tied the lights to Landing gear. They turn on 1 second after the gear deploy. Really cool too. Inboard wing lights (large), and nose gear has dual large lights. This plane is a great value, but it's a lot of work to make it work well!

The extensions come with the plane, as purchased, and by default. You just get them, but you can leave them out if you want a more managable length plane. Also, the A330-600 is not a "real" plane. You can't order an A330-600, but you can order an A330-300...which IS real. As for the controller, I use a Gen1 Spektrum DX18, but previously I used a DX8...both would be a goo choice...but that's a subjective thing. I like spektrum. Some like Futaba...your choice, but you need to have a programable style so you can mix controls, in my opinion.

I recommend the A320, because it's more manageable for size, making it a whole lot easier to transport...and you can't find the A330 anywhere! The A320 is available now (well, at least the last time I checked). Keep in mind the A320 doesn't come with flaps or LED's stock. You can add that stuff. Watch my videos for help...

I have suspicion that RC-Castle.com and Hobby-Paradise.com are both owned by the same factory...X-Flight might also be owned by the same company in Hong Kong. If I crashed my A330-600 and was needing it replaced, I'd order it with a reputable Credit Card, with good fraud protection. If something goes sideways, MasterCard or Visa will help to protect you (usually).

You can order one at RC-Castle.com for $299 + S&H. You also need a transmitter and receiver of your choice. I use a Spektrum DX18 - GEN1 (No longer sold as GEN1, but the GEN2 is available at horizonhobby.com...or you can search for a GEN1 online elseware for about $500) and Lemon-RX 7 channel DSMX receiver with stabilization and dual diversity (Available at lemon-rx.com ~ $30 shipped). The lipo, flight packs I use are 4S 4000mAh 60C Turnigy Heavy Duty (available at hobbyking.com) If you don't fly RC now, this is not a first or second plane...it's not a "hard" plane to fly, it's just tricky to land! Yeah, they're ALL gone except the weird A330 MRTT which is not as scale as I'd perfer. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but just doesn't "have the look" loke the airliners...you know?

Don't disconnect them! This plane has TONS of wires in the wing root...you'd spend an hour just reattaching them, and they wouldn't last too long if you disconnect them each time you go flying! I have my main wing epoxied on. That's why I did the strange removable nose mod...so I can fit in in my car [Barely]... Sorry, no hack for this

You sure can! If you simply leave the "Extra" sections out of the front and back, you'll have an Airbus A330-300. Looks very nice, and easier to transport, plus it's lighter too!
