Oh man! I didn't even know I was looking for these until I found them. Hadn't thought of meaty timing using her moves as the timers. I was always eyeballing it and getting screwed half the time. Nice work. I'll definitely be revisiting this video while in training mode.

The issue with these setups is that if you do buttons for a quick-rise setup and they back recover or delay wake-up, then you're screwed. I recommend you making multiple setups for each situation that cover all types of wake ups.
@NurseLee
@NurseLee 7 жыл бұрын
Well of course these setup wont 100% of the time. Players must still predict their opponents wake- up game correctly, and you have to condition your opponent as well. Now of course I haven't shown any delay wake-up options for her yet, but I will make a video of that for her once my College semester is over. However, don't forget that in some cases the opponent can only opt for a "Quick rise or Delay Wakeup." For instance like her Light Raid on hit, The opponent can only opt a quick rise or Delay wake up which narrows it to a 50/50 setup because the attack is consider as a throw. Thanks for watching and take care!

Had a ton of fun in the lab with this character and dude! She's got Okizemes! She's a contender in SFV Season 2 and do not underestimate her capabilities. Also did this for the Ibuki Mains and I havent created a video for her yet back in season one so here it is! Also question for you guys, Ninja? or Pirates? And no! it can't be a Pirate-Ninja. No Hybrids!

Ninjas for me and Yeah I love Guy. I hope him and Cody make a return. I main Cody back in SFIV youth days. And yeah i didn't think she got too buff until i read an article from eventhubs from Nemo, a Top Japanese Player SF, and he definitly said that Ibuki is one of them. She can keep playing the okizeme game after her Raida. She's going to be great for sure! Thanks for watching man and take care Guillaume!

Not an Ibuki player but still, great content Nurse, I have to say that when she came out i got her with the idea of maining her but I ended up staying with Cammy lol. Maybe I'll give Ibuki another try since she change a lot in season 2. Thanks for the videos man. 😊

Dude personally just stay with Cammy. She's so good. And most importantly, she's just simple to play. regardless of her tier. And she's always been like top 10 character. But yeah I'm no Ibuki player myself and she totally got buff in season 2 and it's great. and just to make a long story short, if she didn't received any buffs, this video wouldn't exist. Thanks for watching Dark Zero, take care and happy new years man!

The results will or should still be the same. If your meaty setup can beat a 3-frame wake up attack, it should work against everyone as well who has 3 frames. Unless the opponent has something special properties behind their attack.

hello everyone. especially to nurse lee. may I know how to identify what kind of "wake up" opponents do? so i can set the meaty properly. or maybe it's all about guess?
@NurseLee
@NurseLee 8 жыл бұрын
No problem and I'm here to help out for everyone! So before that, do you now how to read frame-data? because that will completely make it much easier to understand what works to determine "meaty combos". Training Room Options: So for wake up options, just simply record and set the dummy to: "Jump, Back Dash, or 3-frame non fully invincible attacks." Again Meaty attacks will not work against Full invincible wakeup attacks, such as Critical Arts. And then specifically you have to choose the following wake-up to be: a Normal Recovery, Back Recovery, or no Recovery. and you are pretty much set for experimenting. The hard part is knowing when to time the attack. So yeah it's pretty much guessing at this point. However, I have created a full sequence to narrow the timing to be set perfectly meaty. for you. Now that you know you can meaty these attacks for better combos by following the sequence. The real challenge is "Can you meaty the attack" without the sequence. And if you can do that, that is perfect.
@Loque69
@Loque69 8 жыл бұрын
NurseLee thank you for the replies . okay to be specific, i want to know how you do decide on what kind of meaty setup you gonna do. for example, you have decided to use "quickrise meaty setup", suddenly your opponent do not quick rise, instead they are backrise or delay. so your setup not working anymore. i mean what is the exact way on how to identify your opponent behaviour after knock down.
@NurseLee
@NurseLee 8 жыл бұрын
To simply put it, The key is "Prediction." Whoever character you use, and if you can score a combo that leads into a knock down. just predict the opponents Rise. But that's easier said than done.. However, from normal throws, Command Throws, or Special Attacks like Ibuki's Raida, The opponent can only opt for a "Quick-Rise and Delay Wake-up". So now it's a 50/50. So if we look at Ibuki's Light Vortex Example the moment Ibuki Realizes that her "Dash > c.Lk or c.Lp" is going to whiff, that is the time to use any of the delay wake-sequence to lead into a meaty attack. Furthermore, if you can score a hard knock down on hit, such as Crush-Counter Sweep, you'll be rewarded with a free setup. Unfortunately though, I did not cover Ibuki's Hard Knock down or cover what to do if they opponent decides to opt for a delay wake up. Because if did, this video would probably be 10 to 15 minutes long.

NurseLee ty for the explanation Nurselee! although it took quite a time for me to devour those infos and basics of meaty lol. what a slowpoke i am. haha. nvm, i'll try to practise more in lab. i need to make my own setup regarding delay wakeup. however sir, can you make a video on S2 Necalli's meaty? i'm worried if your setups from previous video no longer works. ty :)

loque69 they might still work but I will revisit all characters regardless if new or old setups. also I will edit these setups to be more simpler and shorter as well.

Do you happen to have any meaty combo's after a non-rise kazegiri? I noticed a lot of people are starting to delay their wake ups to mess up my meaties.

Roy Gonzales I've never made a season 1 video for ibuki. and let me tell ya, season 1 setups were terrible. but thanks to these ibuki buffs, she's way deadlier than before. hope this answers your question and take care!

It did was just wondering didn't want to miss out on anything concerning her you know I'm new to the game so would like to know about the character
@NurseLee
@NurseLee 8 жыл бұрын
Oh!? Well I'll make this simple and to make a long story short. Ibuki is a mix up character. She can create deadly mix ups with her command dash which makes it a simple left or right mix up block. And if you have V-trigger Bomb ready, not only can you use the bomb for combo extensions, you can use the explosion/smoke to create a deadlier mix up setups because the explosion/smoke can conceal ibuki. And finally, she is a resource management character, so keep an eye on your kunai's. Hope this tips helps out and take care Roy!

Seems like a lot of these only work with counterhits?
@NurseLee
@NurseLee 8 жыл бұрын
Yes you are right, but there's also a lot depth happening so fast at the same time where the eye cannot see. For instance, Ibuki cannot Hit confirm her Crouching Light kick into Standing Light kick. However, during the Light Raida vortex segment, she is linking the combo without the counter-hit properties;thus, resulting a meaty attack. Her Crouching Light kick is +3 on hit and her standing Light kick is a 4 frame startup. So she cant link her combo. However, On a well time attack, such as Meaty attacks, she can link her crouching light kick to be +4 and then link into her Standing light kick without the counter-hit. And if it was a counter-hit, the meaty attack will also stack as well. In other words, instead +5 on counter-hit with Crouching Light kick, I can create it to be + 6 on counter-hit meaty instead. Furthermore, I am maximizing all of her pokes to the highest values with counter-hit with meatys. For instance, Ibuki's crouching Light Punch on counter-hit is + 5, but I'm linking into her Medium kick, which is a 6 frame start up normal. And it's not only just effecting the Values "on-hit", it also effects the value frames " On-block" Crouching Light Punch is only +2 on block on the first active frame, yet on her last active frame, theoretically it should be +4 on block. I know this is a lot of information, but I just want players to know how to Maximize her values. And i've been doing it not just for Ibuki. I'm also doing for the rest of the cast in SFV as well. Thanks for watching SadisticPenguinofANd and take care and happy new years!!!!

Cheers! That makes sense and clears things up. A meaty I did a lot in season 1 was the gogasha -> mk.kasumi gake -> st.mp (meaty) -> st.mk (on hit, just restart the target combo....) It'll be fun playing with the new options here in season 2.

Nice! And yeah she's no joke now! She can put up a fight and she's going to be real hard to fight against for players who don't understand her match up. And back in Season 1, I really wanted to create a meaty video for her, but her normal were completely ass. However, that's not the case any more and I found these setup sequences for players to realize how devastating she can truly be when she get's the knock down and resetting the crap out of her opponents. Thanks for watching and Cheers to you!

Do cr.Lp and st.Mk still link?
@NurseLee
@NurseLee 7 жыл бұрын
EDIT: Cr.Lp cannot link into st.Mk. Even if it was a counter-hit, you still cant link into it. However, if you meaty her cr.Lp, you can make it link into St.Mk. but you also need to hit confirm the meaty on counter in order to link it.

It's part of the wake up game, or it can be also known as the okizeme game. And I'll fill you in on the details as simple as i can. So let's look at the example @ 0:25 Quick Rise # 1 (Hold)Vskill > L-kasumi > c.Light Punch. So if Ryu quick-rises, and if Ibuki follows exactly like the sequence, she can meaty her crouching Light Jab. According to her frame data for Crouching Light Jab, It's + 3 on hit and + 5 on Counter hit. However, her Standing Medium-kick is a 6 frame startup and that means she cannot link into it. Unless you meaty Ibuki's crouching Light Jab; Her crouching Light Punch has " 3 Active-frames." And in this case Ibuki's " Meaty Crouching Light Punch" is +5 on hit and + 7 on Counter-Hit. And if you look back, she is linking into standing Medium Kick on Counter-Hit. Furthermore, I'm making Ryu performing Shoryuken on his wake up and he's completely getting punish for not blocking it.

Unfortunately yeah it is advance and the wake up game is a huge learning curve for newer players. But in my opinion, Street Fighters wake up game game isn't too hard to grasp if you compare to other fighting games, such as Guilty Gear, Tekken, and etc. Thanks for watching and take care Human!
