A few months ago, I took a second-class bus to a remote location and surfed a wave that was about 1-meter dropping in. Suddenly it went double overhead, a powerful barrel practically scaring every cell in my body. But then it spit me out and my quad-fin turned up and hit the lip so hard I thought I would fly over the back, but I didn't, instead re-entered, S-turned down the ramp and saw the next barrel. Should I go fast? Should I stall? I wasn't sure, but I found the line and held on. Putting my hands down of the nose, "will I make it out?" Not sure how, but yes I did. 3 off-the-lips, 2 cutbacks off white-water, 2 more tubes... and then one final hit the top - floating the foam and riding up the sand, I stepped off dry. A photog quickly ran up and said the video's for purchase. I told him I never watch the ones I already have, and money is constantly wasted on stupid stuff. Drop some boulders into your local close-out beach break sounds a better use of the millions to me.

I love Kelly, respect what he created, but Modon you could have done better in investing the 10s of Millions into a business model that supports the sport for the masses not for the Ultra Rich. The best in the world will place Abu Dhabi on the image and awareness map but will not support the access and growth of the sport for nationals and expats alike. So ironic the UAE has lost most of it's surf beaches due to real estate developments and now a 100M USD gets spent to price a session of 4-6 waves at a 1,000 USDs?! Sad.

The crisp sand between my toes dissolved as the outgoing tide drained off a new bank that had formed from last weeks' onshore winds. The water had finally cleaned up and the sketchiness of the set up had eased. Summer is coming and the winter swells have ruined the banks, they are running way too flat - need some sand to fill in the holes. The wave was fast - too fast. Eventually I took a close out in and settled on the beach to watch low tide dredge some more bank - mind surfing on a perfect loop. It was a long walk back to the car through the dunes. My outgoing footprints matched the return - with the sole addition of an otter that had joined at some point. I choose this.

Hey Kelly! Future projects should go in a circle, an infinite loop, and break towards the shore, not the wall. Use a Tesla semi to move the foil, which could push other foils, creating a set effect. Also, other Tesla Semis could be interchanged when the battery is low. It will be much cheaper-lots of solar panels. Also, make the foil larger and deeper so the wave reaches a 6-8ft range. It needs a smaller foil coming in the opposite direction, moving water towards the wave. This needs to be built in a circle, a structure like a roller coaster, and the bottom needs to be designed to wrap the water/swell around and channel the water/energy, like a reef in Indo 🤙🌊 🙃😆

That Idea was provided on IG a few years ago............ Yes that would be the way, a giant physics puzzle though would have to be built tank scale first then built to scale and tuneable....... However we have a water world that if protected properly, provides all this naturally for much less time money and effort. Aloha 🤙

I have posted that suggestion a couple of times, and I wonder if you read my post then. I know Kelly’s brother-in-law, and he told me the original idea was for a circle.
