Isn't it funny how a stretch of water like the atlantic makes all the difference? In England, the dogfish are called Smoothound, and on the south coast they are fished for, as are the rays. It's a bad day here if you can catch neither, as they tend to be the biggest fish around, in no small part due to the over fishing of the English Channel. You are very lucky to have flounders in the numbers you do and drum as well. Excellent video please keep them coming.
@MrXinsizionx6 жыл бұрын
The Autistic Angler very interesting comment.. people deliberately kill them over here just because it’s considered “trash”. Pretty sad!
@ChrisMcIntee6 жыл бұрын
yea its true, different parts of the ocean, different fish, the dogfish aka "smoothhounds" are so plentiful here you can catch them nonstop all day long, if we had used the bunker chunks all day we would have caught them at a rate of 1 every 10 minutes probably. They are the main reason I dont do more surf fishing with bait, as any time I fish for stripers/drum from the beach in the spring its always dogfish after dogfish.
@TheAutisticAngler6 жыл бұрын
You are lucky to have so many big fish to catch, I have to contend with fishing for 1/2lb fish on average.
@Brian-pq7pg6 жыл бұрын
I know that spot! Stay off my island, hehe! FWIW, the shoals on the island just south of the one you fished are the prime spot. You can paddle right up into a tidal pool, carry your gear100 yards over a sand shoal, and start fishing. As long as you don't venture onto the main part of the island, you won't get in trouble. Give it a try next time.
