Very nice. I grew up there and I am very familiar with surfing the reds right there in Ft. Pickens. Jacks and Blues too. Occasional Bonito as well. Very cool to watch you fishing my old stomping grounds. Love it.

just a quick note, go to your local Harbor Freight and pick yourself a deadblow hammer (you pick the weight but make it girthy) to pound the sand spikes in. Does a good job driving em in and the plastic head will not destroy your spike....

get out in an open field. try a one oz weight. practice chunking it over and over. make sure the string is on your finger tip and pops off easy... not in the crease of the finger.... just play with it all. make sure you have enough weight relative to the size fishing line and rod.

Would be better if you guys used non-stainless steel bait hooks so it actually has a chance of rusting out of the fish if you lose it
@nhojyelbom8 жыл бұрын
Captain Cocoa Puffs all metal rusts out
@Guitarplayer2198 жыл бұрын
Stainless steel is an alloy that that is used specifically for it's corrosion resistance. Of course all metal rusts eventually, however stainless steel will take exponentially longer than a non stainless steel hook. Diving on reefs where people catch goliaths you can see how old the stainless steel hook is in it's mouth but not even close to rusting or falling out. May as well not cheap out and use a sharper and stronger hook that also has a benefit for the fish if you lose it
