Surf Fishing Panama City Beach Florida

Fishing Panama City Beach Florida was a blast! Dana won a stay on the beach from a radio station, so you know we couldn't wait to get down there and see what the fishing on the gilf coast had to offer. This is the closest beach to us now, since our move, and we are pleased to report it did not disappoint! The surf action is much lighter than what we were used to fishing in the Carolinas or Maryland. This made detecting lite strikes from the northern kingfish (also known as whiting or sea mullet if you fish the Outer Banks) we caught much easier! But that's not all we caught! Fishing live bait in the surf, we got ladyfish right off the beach, and Mike even hooked a massive Red Drim that put up quite a fight before being landed! While the beach was pretty busy during the day, we had so much fun we are sure we'll be back to fish the gulf coast again!

Yes she is so lucky! But we will be exploring the gulf coast for sure. It’s a bit of a hike down there, but it’s the closest surf for us now
