Surf Vs Skim : Wakesurfing : Who Wins? You Vote!

During our Jet Pilot 2023 Media Capture team riders Dylan Ayala and Sam Langley were wakesurfing when I tossed the idea to them that we should do a Surf Style vs Skim Style surf contest, where you are the judge. Wow great runs by both riders! The surf had huge airs and hard snaps, and the skim had nice airs with consistent technical tricks landed. I like more of the surf style myself but I give this one to Skim for the win. Great rides either way and thanks for the content!

No question SKIM one this. I like riding both Skim and Surf but prefer SKIM. The SKIM rider was way more technical. Come on peeps, don't be jaded based on what you prefer. Call it like it is. Great riding.

Wow both had some really cool moves. If I could do half of those moves. The skim was rocking it that is for sure, the surf did come back near the end with some really cool moves. I have to go with a tie. Riding switch is hard. It was very cool to watch. Thank you.

What does everyone think is the best of both worlds ? I surf (at the ocean) but I like a skim style board... I've never ridden a hybrid board but, I'd like to rent a few and try them out, any suggestions ?

My daughter rides the Hyperlite Wingman but with the short trailer fins in the big fin slots, so it's a looser surf style

@@Shaun.Murray Cool, I'll check it out, thanks ! PS - I spent lot of hours playing "unleashed" on PS2 as a kid. I've never owned a boat so, it was the only wakeboarding I could do at a young age. I watch your videos and always think how lucky these kids are to have parents that buy them boats. Now I'm fortunate enough to be able to rent time on the boat at Florida Ski School or OWC. Still don't own one though... maybe one day PSS - Seeing your rallies inspired me to do them and I was pretty good for a while. Started doing s-bends at OWC. Then I dislocated my shoulder a few times😖

I personally like a Surf style more than Skim but maybe I need to go skim because it seems like skim can do anything surf can and is more versatile except for a little more pop with a surf...or maybe it's the riders being different. My Vote: Skim

I’ve ridden them all. True skim board, skim hybrid, and surf style. For my skill level surf has been the easiest to learn tricks on. But the skim is fast and spins so easy. Haven’t ridden the hybrid in a few years. Maybe I’ll give it a try
