Surface Pro 8 Screen Replacement | Fix Cracked Display | Surface Restoration

Hello,
Please watch the entire video before attempting this repair.
You will need a heat source to soften the adhesive enough to lift the screen off the frame. I used dull razor blades inserted between the glass screen and frame, please be careful if you are going to use this method.

Very well done, would you say the new frame makes this easier or harder than the previous one? Asking because i opened a few SP3 and they were quite a pain to do properly without splitting the glass

I would say these are easier as the thinner frame has thinner strips of adhesive.

It is plug and play, no programming needed.

Does the replacement screen come with the adhesive and speaker mesh?

The replacement screen comes with the adhesive. The speaker mesh stays on the frame and does not attach to the screen

I need to replaced the screen on my surface pro 8. Is the resolution and brightness is the same on the generic screen. Did you notice any difference?

The one used was ver good, sometime it’s luck of the draw. You can get oem screens, or used screens.

I want to open mines up but can’t find any replacement adhesive for the display, Is there a way to find any?

Usually the new screen will come with pre applied adhesive strips. If not I use b7000 liquid adhesive.

In the official repair guide, it says you need to put the device in display replacement mode using SDT, but I can't find how to do it. Did you do that, or did you just replace (plug and play) with the new screen ? Thank you
