This is a good summary. I've had the EPS version of the Red Baron (5'6", 33 litres) for about 6 months. I could only get it with the FCS II plugs so ended up pairing it with Channel Islands C1 keels. It's a great combo and the keels are a must. Once you get the rail in, it flies. You can get way out on the shoulder with speed to burn and not have to worry too much about stalling on the wave between turns. If you like to carve, this board is well worth a try. I've struggled with it a bit in steep-pitched or hollow waves of any decent size, especially on late take offs. The board either bolts or I catch the nose or rail. That said, it's great in 1-3ft summer slop and it's also awesome in bigger stuff up to 5ft, if the waves are a bit full. It's not an everyday board, but it's my first choice in small or softer waves where my shortboard labours a bit. Overall, I'm very happy with the investment.
