This looks so good. Surfed Soup Bowls this size around 40 years ago but not nearly as clean. Back then only a handful of guys out including a guy named Edmond Oliver who was one of Barbados' top surfers at the time.

Only the islands that stick well out into the Atlantic. Nothing more East and exposed than Barbados.

@@mitseraffej5812 it sticks out 150km farther than St. Vincent. The whole chain just drops down from PR. VI and all those places hit. There’s even reef set ups. Little islands you need a boat to get to. Caribbean is the most hush hush of everywhere. They are super secretive about their spots. I almost got to surf a North Shore St. Croix spot one time with a local, but the dad shot it down since I was from the continent. Guys protect their surf maps like treasure maps, sometimes it’s the same map. Lol.

@@robertchiarizia9463 One of my kids lives/works in the Turks and Caicos, has done for many years. On the main tourist island Providenciales where he is based there are a few fickle spots. From the beach they don’t look like much but get out there via JetSki and it can be ok. Plenty of tiger sharks though which I guess would be the same everywhere in the Caribbean.

@@mitseraffej5812 sharks are unavoidable. As long as you aren’t surfing in murky river inlets, you are mostly ok. I used to live on Oahu and on Maui. Always sharks in the water and patrolling the reef. At The Lane North if the channel from Ho’Okipa, there was a 8’ shark that lived there. He only gaped at me once but it was enough to paddle for the quite large waves instead of sit with him in the channel. There were more but he was well known. Some places would churn your stomach when your Sharkdar went off. The human nervous system has been refined over many millennia. When I have a predator locked on me, I can feel them, and get a clear picture in my mind what it is and how big it is. I know in my gut I sat above 30 footers way out on Maui’s North Shore at Hono Manu. The place is prehistoric looking with giant boulders rolling around on the bay floor as swells come in. That has a cloudy river inlet. Quite dangerous. I always hope they don’t like white meat over dark meat as much. Lol. Luckily we taste like a wet marshmallow to them. I’ve had other surfers tell me about tigers raking them with a tooth just to test out how they taste. That would be unnerving.

@@robertchiarizia9463 I had a job some years back that took me to Maui often. I scored Honolua bay on numerous occasions. The first time was big (for me that is ) 8 ft and on the first mauling I got when I floated to the top of the foam I was greeted by a turtle popping his head out to check me out, about a foot from my face. That sure spooked me. Another time at the same spot after heavy rain and the river on the inside of the bay was spilling plenty of brown water which meant you had to paddle back up the line in the murky water unable to see your hands on each stroke. Someone got bit another spot down the west side while I was there. He got to the beach then bled out. The bite was up high on his thigh and those assisting him couldn’t get the leash tourniquet to work. Or so I heard. That was probably 2004.

Nice vid man was in Bathsheba for 20 days couple of years ago. Parlors was great for like 10 days straight but didn't get lucky with really good Soup Bowl. Still to this day my favorite holiday:)
