Idk if it's just me, but seeing them fish with those reels feels like it takes the "fun" out of fishing. Part of the enjoyment is winning the fight to get them to the boat. Beautiful fish though.

I said yesterday morning in the line up “ this is my Super Bowl Sunday “ I was going for the 9ners… we took a party wave and I went left he went right. It was such a nice wave we didn’t even bother looking cause it was just us, I seen him last second and accidnetly bailed, now my 8’0 log looks like a shark took a chunk out cause his FCS fins filleted my board , bro paddles back to me screaming “ your boaaaard!!! “ with a half foot chunk of it in his hands, guess I went out like the team I went for

they are called flame or ruby snapper in the Indo Pacific. Flame have the forked tail. Super common on all deep reef.

There is a great app called "Shazam" which I use all the time to identify songs I hear playing. So easy to use and it usually takes a 2-3 seconds to name the artist & song title. Intro....... That wasn't fishing. That's called catching, and catching is always better than fishing. Guess Ian surfing with you definitely helped him at the Lexus Pro, but you didn't give him the cheat code to take down JJF. Still made it to the semi's and got a great start start on the season. North Shore crew locked it down at Pipe... Hawaiian crew locked it down at Pipe, and Jamie's name was dropped a 100 times as the sensei.

Hey JOB, cheers for keeping us psyched on surfing. I was wondering if you could give us a run down on your boards, including volumes, withs and thicknesses for everyday beachey conditions (not pipe). Being a bigger set guy (no offence intended) than most of the scrawny blokes on tour riding 25 litres, I think a lot of average sized blokes would find it helpful to hear what you ride. Our only other comparisons are Occy and Luke Egan😂

Question, I live in manly Australia. I've been surfing for a year and a half on a couple different boards currently a 9,6 modern longboard. getting comfortable with small turns and very confident in standing up. I know that you can't rush from a longboard to a shortboard and should take your time but I feel confident in using both a shortboard and longboard depending on the conditions of the waves. I'm 6,3 and around 75 kg. I want something short that is stable and has good litres that I can still turn with. i would appreciate any recommendations on what I should get. I was thinking of the modern Highline 6,2. please give me some feedback, thanks 🤙🏄

Honestly, you just gotta take your time don’t wanna move down too down too slow! You always wanna ride a surfboard at least the same size as you or an inch bigger! Your local surf shop can help you for sure

The basic characteristics of that board are pretty mellow (22 wide and 45L), so something like that should be an easy wave catcher if you are ready for it. That said, it will be different than riding a longboard. If you can own both simultaneously, that would give you options during the learning curve to avoid frustration and also keep progressing on the longboard.

Thats their swim bladder, it expands because they can't regulate the pressure in it when they're brought up from deep water quickly.
