I remember driving my brother to school and singing along with the 10,000 days album. My brother said one time “hey who sings this?” I said tool. He said “why don’t you let them sing it then.” I was so mad but it was a hell of a zinger at me. Flash forward years and I am married with a child and I look back. My brother struggled with addiction, our high school mascot was the warriors. My brother watched all of his friends graduate and start careers and he was in and out of rehab. A warrior longing to stay relevant, a warrior struggling to stay relevant…. I love tool. But I never expected it to ring home so true. I tell myself it’s just a band, it’s just some dudes with talent. But those “dudes” hit home harder than anything ever has. Thank you for this song. Thank you for being the soundtrack for my adult life and helping me get through the shit. My brother Died 9/26/2018 face down on the sidewalk of overtown Miami trying to buy cocaine but got fentanyl instead. I miss him a lot and I’m furious he never saw me get married or saw my daughter. The music doesn’t make it better but it puts my mind in a younger state. I was at this concert with my wife and sister and law who never met him and they saw how it affected me. Thankyou tool, you have helped me get through hard times, and you have helped me remember my past as hard as it can be

Sorry for your loss man, addiction is one of the worst things in this world.
@musicmarauder71482 жыл бұрын
A longer life is not a better life... Its better than going through the angst of seeing all that you believe in trashed. Most of us are holding on only for our near dear ones. Your brother is in a better place. The good leave early. Addiction is not a ailment, it is the symptom of hopelessness in a society which got wrong on all sphere of being human.

I was there it was a spiritual experience. I was in a trance. This was the best show I've ever been to. They rocked , so hard. Sounded like the albums. It was amazing. Goosebumps thinking of it right now.

Yes indeed. I saw them 20 years ago and I still get goosebumps when I think about that show. So amazing. Saw them in '19 and will be seeing them again in 2 weeks. Tool is something to experience live. Video doesn't do this band justice. Phenomenal.

i went too. had nosebleed tickets, got there late in the middle of fear inoculum. ushers rushed to me to say there was a desk on the 4th floor. went to the desk, they were filling out fucking side stage - section 1 - Row 6 seats right next to Justin Chancellor. He was bad ass the entire show.

I was there. It was my virgin live Tool experience. I'm 39 years old and I can say in all honesty......this was the first concert that I've ever experienced that literally took me out of my body and I experienced something special happening, every soul there became one......and the movements of our collective body were being directed by the genius before us. Words fail. It was......beautiful beyond measure.

Whoever filmed this did an excellent job, this is top notch recording. Watching it feels like I'm at the show. This was my favorite song from the last album, especially that part from 10:57 to 12:15, I like how they're just jamming to that same riff for over a minute.

I had the weirdest moment with this song. When I saw Top Gun: Maverick, it was a very emotional experience for me. I’m 64 and have seen the original many times. If you’ve seen the new Top Gun, then what I’m about to say may ring true for you. I was in tears for most of the movie. I could not stop thinking that the movie is a commentary on Tom Cruise’s life. The tone of the film and some of the quotes: “The end is inevitable, Maverick. Your kind is heading for extinction.” “Maybe so, sir, but not today.” I could not stop thinking about this song and how Cruise is struggling to remain relevant at his age. That’s why he’s making movie after movie while he still can. And then I realized the whole experience…the tears were about me as the warrior struggling to remain relevant…consequential. I was blown away and can still tap into the emotions of that day. Thankfully, Tool will always be relevant and influential in our lives.
