When I babysit my 4 year old nephew, I show him videos about space, volcanos, animals, and 3D animations about microbiology. He's full of questions which prompts me to elaborate with more videos. National Geographic is a great source for both kids and adults on KZbin. My nephew also likes zooming from the smallest to largest objects in the known universe on a website called "Scale of the Universe 2", as well as drawing on the computer, crashing planes in Microsoft Flight Simulator, playing with a digital microscope, looking through a telescope, and exploring among billions of procedurally generated planets, stars, and galaxies using a program called "Space Engine". If for whatever reason you can't separate your grandson from his tablet, try installing and opening Google Earth on his device and show him different places such as your house and his parents house, as well as trying some of the activities I've mentioned above. When this all started my son was young and parents then were fighting to keep their kids off the internet and trying to monitor their child. It was pushed by educators and included into school work. Simple fix...Make all cell phones use a thumbprint to access content...Put guard rails on certain websites. Lock out users that harass, or use hatefull speech and or videos. 1st lockout would be 1 whole day. Next lockout would be 1 month. Next lockout for 1 year. The parents can even control the amount of time their children play games. This is a rough description, but it's the only way to stop abuse.

Would you pay for social media? There is no benefits to what you suggest outside of adding a pay wall to prevent people who do not want to pay or cannot afford to pay. Paying more or paying for something is not a good solution to many of the problems on social media.
