Surgeon Spotlight: Dr. Philip M. Pierorazio

Dr. Phillip M. Pierorazio, Chief of the Section of Urology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, discusses his expertise as a urologic oncologist specializing in the treatment of prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular and upper tract urethral cancers. Dr. Pierorazio’s main interests are collaborating with colleagues at Penn Medicine to find a kidney cancer biomarker and influencing how physicians manage patients with kidney cancer to level the playing field of delivering excellent care. Dr. Pierorazio’s approach to patient care is to make sure patients understand their disease and why we’re making certain recommendations. His greatest joy: The long-term relationships he builds with patients. “I want them to know their options and what we would choose if they were a member of our family.
