It is heartbreaking for everyone. The poor boy who is in excruciating pain and conscious of his foot being amputated. The sister and mother watching this happening to their loved one and being helpless. The doctors and medical staff who feel helpless that they aren’t able to give him proper anesthetiser or pain medication or even operate in a proper and sterilised environment. Just so people understand the difference with a light anesthesia and a complete anesthesia , light is used in easier operations and is NOT the same as a complete . When you do major operations like amputation you NEED complete anesthesia or the patient WILL feel pain. Ps Have gone through 4 operations in my life. Another thing is also if you do a light anesthesia on a person that do a major operation that patient can wake up in the middle of the operation. The Mercy would be that the boy faint by the pain and in that way do not feel it. There is a reason why a doctor ask questions before the operation of a patient, so they know how long that operation will be, the kind of operation and how much anesthesia that is needed.

Always support your child in these situations as much as you can - the trauma comes from being or feeling left alone in such a situation, because the child cannot carry it. It´s not the physical pain which causes the trauma, it is the situation and what happens inside of you. I cried as a little child out of fear when getting earrings lol it was traumatic, because I wasn´t supported. The same as other things, medical stuff, even small ones. It still affects me because I wasn´t supported. It is a problem that children are being left alone with it, even when it is not a situation, where it is about saving a life and it needs to go fast - but just a doctors appointment and the children are being thrown into the situation without supporting them and guiding/helping them through it. I know that a parent feels helpless, because they think they´re powerless in such a situation, but just wanted to point out, that it is possible to support the child and helping them
