I bought mine back in 2012, it's my daily rider, still rides as well as it did the day it rolled out of the shop, still on original wheels, even the freehub is the same, still original bearings all in all, just give it some fresh grease from time to time, it's possibly the best purchase i ever did, love my black ops Pugs, i recommend these if you want a very reliable bike.

Thanks for sharing this review, particularly the detail on the asymmetric frame and fork.

Good review. Thanks. The pug (mine is the same colour but with all black matt wheels) is the best all-round bike I've ever had. Easy to ride and to look after...

"stephen gabrielaitis4 months ago I feel like a 29er with a knobby 2.3 would do the job just as good." No they deft do not!, fatbikes can go where regular bikes struggle, or it is so hard work to maintain forward movement it is far from enjoyable... They are deft not slow either, they rip on loose shale and gravel, scree and other types of loose unstable surfaces..

I live in the desert. They also go flying over the sand with less strain when you hammer down.

FFF Fatties fit fine, ie giant tires. Even their touring bikes (like the LHT) fit way bigger tires than comparable models from other brands.

what keeps it on tops of the snow, the tire width or the bouyancy of the tires?
@CottageandCompany9 жыл бұрын
juanjeremy2012 I believe it would be the size of the tires. I'm no scientist though
@nigahiga64009 жыл бұрын
juanjeremy2012 Tire width. Pressure is defined as force over area. You can't change the downward force of gravity, but you can change the contact area. It's the same concept with snowshoes, spreading the weight over a larger area so you sink less. Newer 5 inch fat bikes have even more floatation. In all honesty though in deep, fresh snow tire width is directly proportional to the amount of time before you fall.

what size? and have you weighed it?

In most conditions yes it would be better but there is a reason why people buy these fat bikes and its because they can ride where only 4" wide tires can go which is deeper snow and sand. There will be a point that this will float on top and grip while the 2.3 will sink and have to push through. I personally, would have no use for this bike as I ride where it rarely snows and I have no yearning to ride on a beach not to mention they aren't cheap.

I miss this original version. I don't like that low top tube of the new one all angled down like that. Also being able to order direct instead of the local bike shop fad outdated americans are deciding to try and force on everyone lately.
