Peacock. I don't find many people with my name.I was born in Mississippi in the 1950's up in the "HILLS" . I googled the name and as best I can tell it's supposed to be Scots -Irish. It's kind of rare but I've seen an old advert in England with the name Peacock. Great videos, thumbs up!

David, I once lived in Shaw, Mississippi. Ike Galtelli was a neighbor who loved to tell me about the old days in Bolivar County. One of his stories invoked Mr. Peacock. It seems you relative had bought a Roadmaster Buick. When a local fellow asked him if it got good mpg, Mr. Peacock said, “A man that owns a Roadmaster Buick doesn’t worry about gas mileage.

There's a lot of connections in this episode, Barry. I grew up in IL with a girl named Tennant, whose older brother was Andy Tennant, He had a very cool yellow Pontiac Tempest convertible, and later went on to be a successful Hollywood director. Yount and Younce are names here in NC, and one county native went off to Medical School then actually came back to the "auld sod" and practices as a Cardiologist. I also know a Hauck family, but they moved here from NJ. Have a nice trip. Hope your family in Eastern TN escaped damage from the storm.

Paul, that's some good deduction! I covered Hawkins in Episode 7 (January 20, 2021), but I don't remember if I mentioned that when "in" appears at the end of a surname, it means little. The "s" could be the son of or a plural appellation.

Johan arrived in Philadelphia 1738, (passed in April 1757 buried in Berks County) they settled in Berks County... @@BarryVann I hear you. My family roots are in East Tennessee as well, and while I grew up far from there, I was raised in a very rural part of the United States. I did, however, go to college in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the late 70s when Yount played for the Brewers. Many people from Appalachia and the broader Southeast found their way to Milwaukee for industrial jobs during the early-to-mid 20th century. Anyway, while I am one of them (democratic) "socialists" you speak of, I am also a Christian, and I do appreciate your videos. Milwaukee, you might recall, had a couple of socialist mayors and a couple of socialist US House members. Milwaukee was the home of "sewer socialism," meaning that the emphasis was on making sure the city had a decent water and sewer system everywhere. The legacy of these folks also included a lot of public green space throughout the city including all of the waterfront on Lake Michigan.

Thank you for your wonderful cultural channel dr Barry . We just prayed dawn prayers before one hour . I think you are in the afternoon or evening. I looked up for meanings and origin of surnames you mentioned briefly here it’s tennant is Scottish , English: status name for a farmer who his land from overlord by obligations of rent or service , from Middle English tena ( u) nt “ tenant” ( old French tenant ) . Yount is British , Irish, which comprises 51. 5 percent of all ancestry found in people with surname. The next two most common ancestries are French , German ( 32. 9 percent) and Eastern European ( 4. 0 percent) . The surname booher is derived from the Middle High German word “ bur” , meaning, a small dwelling or building. The word came to mean ( neighbor) or fellow citizen. Hawk is a masculine name of English origin to remind a babies to sharpen their talons with pride . Meaning “ bird or prey “ this badass name offers plenty of inspiration from the sharp - eyed , stoic creature . Hawks or falcons have long been synonymous with strength, grace , wisdom. I hope you like my research. Good luck to you your family friends.
