Most of these tough men break into tears when they get the black belt. They work so hard, struggling and hustling for years.

John doesn't have the hard man persona. He is the most amazing person i have ever had the honour of meeting. An absolute gentlemen. He is more than a great coach too, he is a genuine roll model in every sense of the word.

Im from England and the Haka gets me every time. Im envious of such a primal, powerful warrior expression, I wish we had something like that, it really speaks to something deep inside of me

One stripe brown belt - black belt?
@USALibertarian3 жыл бұрын
Good observation. Interesting. But stripes don't always mean much depending on the gym and teacher.

Wait how can he be promoted to black belt if he is still a one stripe brown belt? That’s the problem with BJJ now, instructors don’t respect the belt system anymore.
@coryfreitas_3 жыл бұрын
Stripes fall off when you train and sometimes you don't replace them.
@emansfvera3 жыл бұрын
Shit man idk, I’ve train for a good 5 years and those things are pretty sturdy and hardly fall off and even if they fall off you can easily replace them just by asking your professor. Hey man I’m not hating I was just stating something that I was seeing on the video I might be right I might be wrong.
@coryfreitas_3 жыл бұрын
@@emansfvera all good. I've had stripes fall off and just to lazy to put new ones on. I agree with you though some instructors don't respect the belts and just give it to anyone. Some places are watering down the Martial art/sport.

Not all schools do stripes thing , in my school do only stripes for white belts

10 years of training is not good enough to be promoted to a BB? Get over yourself
