Hi Cassidy, first off I want to thank you for always being so encouraging. I don’t have a lot of support and I have wanted to start my own business for quite a while. So I actually finally started taking action and I’m excited one thing that I’m having a hard time with, and it is slowing me down is keeping everything organized for your actual listing, like I’ll see stuff that I want to put on the shirt and I’ll download it and then I’ll see some warming that I like to hold download that and then the mock up and I just it takes me a long time to find everything again can you go over your strategy for filing your listing, that would really be helpful for me. Again, thanks for all you do for us.

I made those towels for our honeymoon they are fabulous I'm going to start selling them they dry you good and they dry pretty fast in the sun. We have been using them at our pool and washed them a bunch they hold up good we have three boys too that are not gentle with things they are 11,12, and 13 lol

Hi Cassiy. Could you please give your opinion on Etsy"s policy update from July 9 stating that mockups are not allowed as the thumbnail image for personalized listings? This is going to be very difficult for POD sellers.

You could buy one sample & they said you can use customer photo for first image. I usually order at least one of my sample no matter what

​@@LaniseLashae_ Unfortunately you cannot use a photo of different (finished customized) design on the thumbnail of a different design, if that makes sense. In POD, every design is different so you would literally need samples for pictures of every item you sell. Some sellers have hundreds of unique personalized design listings. Plus switching out your thumbnail pic on a listing that is performing well can tank your listing in my personal experience

Etsy support has confirmed that they are only looking for you to use a mockup image of a real garment, not an AI image and they also don't want "your text here" type items. You are fine to use mockups as long as it shows the design as the customer will receive it like actually putting "Mrs.Johnson" as an example name. As for Stephen with Hello Custom, he was not doing POD, he has his own warehouse and employees that made his Etsy shop a full time job. He has decided to close his shop to focus on building his software.

@CassiyJohnson wouldn't that eat into your costs plus storage to do that? More costs on content for a real item. If you have multiple items where are you keeping all of those items? Im new so I'm just thinking ahead

Yes I do suggest posting multiple items and niches in one store, I call it a general store! Most shoppers on etsy shop the listings in the search results more than your shop, so I think it's fine to go wider in your offering. But even if someone does come to your store, I don't think it's weird to have multiple things for sale. This is how most shops on Etsy do their offerings

Do you know why we can't sell the coffee on Etsy? I don't plan too but I'm just wondering - Printify don't specify, and I can't see a reason in the prohibited items. As far as I'm concerned, a coffee with a unique design package is the same as a shirt with a unique design graphic.

You can’t sell items where you only design the packaging, you have to design on the actual item. So yes to a candle because it’s attached but no to a gift card attached to a necklace that you didn’t make

Those are copyrighted, you can't sell items with characters from anything on them unless you have a commercial license to do so

The candles are different because you are designing the actual item that the customer will keep, not just the packaging.

Once you get an order for the item on Etsy or wherever you are selling, then Printify will ship the product directly to the customer!

No candles are fine because the candle is the item, we aren’t allowed to sell items where we just design the packaging, but since the message is printed onto the candle, we are good to go!

Summer stuff is still selling for right now so you could try posting some stuff but I would spend more time focussing on what is coming up next like Halloween/Thanksgiving/Fall/Christmas and so on. But it was fun to get and share these samples!

Sorry I am not sure if it would work or not if you close it and reopen! I think it might not give it to you because it will know you are the same person and you'd have to use a different email to open the new shop and use a new name so it might not be worth all the trouble
