ABOUT KEVIN CHAPMAN
Hi, I'm Kevin Chapman, a full-time KZbinr, author, podcaster, speaker and occasional teacher from Peterborough, UK. As part of my daily vlog I release new videos every day at 5pm UK time with topics including life as an autism family, conventions and geek culture, technology, education and tutorials and entrepreneurship.
When I left my full-time as a Computer Science teacher in July 2017, my partner, Anna, was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw me because I was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today I'm a full-time content creator who's always at home when my kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my family's ongoing journey as family vloggers! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs.

I have been to Disneyworld Florida twice and they are so wonderful and accomadating. If its the same there you can call them ahead of time Andy can get a special pass that will let employees know and he can wait in quieter areas and chatacters know and can interact with him better ( I just liked looking at them and didnt want them touching me) and if he has a meltdown( which I have done in Disney twice) employees will help you with what he needs. They helped me take a secret path to leave a crowded spot and got me some water and were overall lovely.

I live in California with my brother who has down syndrome and we get these passes all the time for Disneyland. This is also really helpful for hot days when waiting in a long line is a lot harder on him

@@jordangraybill1374 That's all well and good in most situations, but at a DISNEY park, that'll be their downfall, seeing as most if the park's attraction queue lines will be about 6 hours depending on how busy the park can be. Sometimes, you just have to swallow your pride and think, "Is that REALLY the best thing to do?".

I'm so happy for you guys! I went to Disneyland Paris 10 years ago now (I can't quite believe it's 10 years), unfortunately I remember very little of it though. I'm a massive theme park enthusiast and hearing you guys talking about going to theme parks made me really happy lol

Hi Kevin, I'm absolutely love Disneyland Paris been twice (and hope to go back again). This may be useful for Andy they do disability passes so Andy and your family won't have to queue for very long or at all because the waiting times could be up to 2 hours especially during the holiday season. I have Autism and both times I've been I haven't had to queue at all. All you need is evidence of his diagnoses, go to the information centre in the park and you will get the pass, it is really useful. I love your vlogs and content and give Andy and Dave a big cuddle from me.

How much fun for all of you!! Be sure and check ahead of time to see if they have fast passes or family lines so Andy does not have to wait in long lines. Also they may have more quiet restrooms for Andy to use because the automatic flushes can be extremely loud going off in the regular bathrooms, or a sensory room/quiet room to regroup. Can't wait to watch your adventure!

The Easy Access Pass officially covers the person plus two carers, but they usually allow immediate family members as well so families are not split up and can ride

You definitely need at least 3 nights, the parks can be done in 2 days but Paris needs a day or more to explore. Very excited for you!

Well done and enjoy planning. River Seine boat ride, Notre Dame Cathedral and having a pick-nick at the eiffel tower is what i recommend doing in Paris. Happy Travels !!!

Oh my god I love Disney! It's my special interest - when I worked for Disney (not the Parks department) in California we went to Disneyland Anaheim 15 times in 16 months!! We've been to Disney Paris twice and are planning our next trip already. There's so much you can do to make the trip better for everyone - lots of tips & tricks but also ways to save money etc (get the carers ticket discount!!). I know you didn't take advantage of the card to avoid lines at the other parks but at Disney you'll definitely want to get the green card - especially because of potential evacuations. My wife is a wheelchair user and I'm on the spectrum so we've learned a lot from our many trips to the parks. I'd love to help you guys plan this holiday if you need help (I've helped other people with special needs plan their trips to make the most of it). You're gonna have such an amazing time!!!

Hey Kev I went to Disney land Florida last year in October. If you go to special services you can get a special pass which lets you skip the lines. You do not need any papers to show any illness’s I’m pretty sure. Just a heads up

Amazing! So excited to see you guys in Disney! I think Andy will definitely come round, you might want to try working with the school to desensitise him to headphones/ear defenders as I have been at Disneyland Paris during school time and it has been disorientingly loud even then, I think it could really help even if it is tough at the start. So so excited!

That's a pretty bad idea. I know what you're saying, as I'm an advocade of how you have to get used to things in life, but because of how loud the parks are, I would seriously reccomend earphones here.

Charlotte Vicarage that’s not how autism works, there is no desensitising him to the noise because it is how his brain works, the environment has to be adapted in order for him to cope with it 👍🏻

Disneyland Paris is amazing lots of world class attractions. Ratatouille and Pirates of the Caribbean in particular are amazing! Be aware that Disney do a similar thing to Merlin when it comes to queues and character meet and greets. On that same note it’s really important that you make full use of any early ride time and the Fastpass system. The Eiffel Tower is well worth booking in advance very reasonable if you do that!

I’ve recently been to Disney land Paris on a tour to perform in there performing arts on stage thing! We drove on a coach and went on the train and it was absolutely fine👍 we also did the Eiffel Tower and it was so good they had a HUGE lift that I think Andy would love I would also recommend the evening fireworks at Disney if that is something you would all enjoy because it is amazing😱🤗

Also, in Disneyland we got there for when it opened, and then headed straight for the star wars section (with hyperspace mountain) because we didn’t take the typical route of people heading into the park, me and my friends got 4 rides done in the first 2 hours, there was pretty much no queues and later some of those rides had queues of nearly an hour. I also recommend getting a disability pass for Disney, I know you want to get him used to queuing but some of the queues are so long at Disney and sometimes because they have designed the waiting area there can be flashing lights and strange noises as you queue, which he may find challenging, thought I would let you know.

I am going on the 6th of may to the 20th of may with my family. It was a little christmas gift I brought for them all because I have only been once but my brother has never been so it will be good for him.
