You can use public transportation to avoid the frustrating congestion of the city of Jakarta. there is Transjakarta, MRT, but for now Transjakarta buses are able to reach all of Jakarta because they have the longest BRT line in the world

Actually the traffic happening to get Kota Tua is because of construction activity. 2nd line of MRT is under progress alongside under the road from Bundaran HI to Kota Tua, moreover Kota Tua is being under revitalising currently.... It's better to get there in the weekend, the best time is Saturday morning!

The story about the tearing of the blue part of the Dutch flag is not a myth, it's from the Yamato Hotel tragedy that happened during the independence war. but this is not how Indonesia got its flag

Hi Steve! In case you were wondering, the US states of New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Connecticut, and parts of Pennsylvania and Rhode Island were all part of the Dutch Empire. There is also a country in South America called Suriname that was also a former Dutch colony. Favourite vacation spots in the Caribbean like Aruba and Curacao are also part of the Netherlands. And Malacca in Malaysia was a Dutch colony briefly, as was Sri Lanka.

The Red and White flag is not merely ripping off the blue part..... Red & White flag originated during the Majapahit empire (circa 8 AD)..... Red denotes bravery and White for integrity........at that time flag was red-white-red-white...... The ripping off the blue side of Dutch flag happened in Surabaya in September 1945 at hotel Yamato ,when a Dutch business person unraised the Red-White flag ,and raised a Red-White-Blue flag .......

6:56 : The Indonesian flag was not influenced by the Dutch flag. The flags of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore were inspired by the Pataka Gula Kelapa flag from Majapahit Empire. In fact, the East India Company (British) flag was inspired after the Getih-Getah Samudera flag, which was later adopted by the United States (Former British Empire) flag. about the flag, the story itself isn't a myth. the story you just said did happen at the Hotel Yamato back in the early 1945 but that's not how we got our flag. the flag itself is based on the flag of Majapahit Empire which dates back to 1294 and we still use this original flag as our naval jack. also maybe that's why the hotel itself is now called Hotel Majapahit Surabaya, the place where we removed the blue and back to our red and white.
