When you are laying out the pool utility room, be sure to allow for supplies (Chlorine, filters, test kits, etc). You will want to store those items off the cement floor and have them at a comfortable height so you don't have to bend over to put cases in or take jugs out. Also, I maybe went over board on our pool we had, but I kept a log of all my tests, how much of what chemical I added with dates. It really helps to manage the pool and establish a schedule. Sure going to be a beautiful home when done. Thanks for sharing.

You might want to consider having shutoff valves and unions on your pool service lines. It will allow you to close off any pipes in the event you need maintenance or have a leak without draining the system. The unions will allow for quick removal of pumps and filters without having to cut your pipes.
@jcadult1015 ай бұрын
That's what I did, but my pool is above ground so you would drain down quite a bit.
@cathiwim5 ай бұрын
I would also do this on the house- our house was built in 1988 and there is only ONE shutoff for the entire house! We are in process of fixing that!

My above ground pool is 20,000gal (18'x45') I have 2 pumps, 2 filters. I run the sand filter for several hours, then the DE filter kicks in. This collects most of the floaties in the easily cleaned sand filter, then the DE polishes the water.

Hey Bealy Good! The laser manufacturers don't make laser levels powerful enough to be seen in sunlight because it would only be a short time before a few hillbillies blinded themselves and sued the manufacturer out of existence. Ride ride ride!

Laminars is you say? Very cool. Had a pool with half a dozen of them. Could have hired out the pool as a therapy spa. Just a thing for sore back while floating on air mattress. The effect of LED lighting in pool is like unbelievably cool as well. Have fun there 👍
@patricks76225 ай бұрын
I had a follow-up thought on the laminars... I wished that I had installed gate valves rather than ball valve at each laminar. This would have made them much easier to adjust. Was fun to take three of them and make output converge on one spot. Made for quite the back massage I can tell you. Especially effective with heater on high) Cheers.

A thought from someone who used to have, and took care of five swimming pools but is down to only one... You cannot have enough valves, and you cannot have enough unions. Set up everything thinking about ease of replacement, because you will be replacing a lot over time. I have to disconnect our pool pump and take it inside the house every winter because a $1300 swimming pool pump cannot handle being winterized and left outside.

Been following this project have a question; what is the strength (or the hydro-static pressure) of the un-supported (no back fill) walls adjacent to the pump room and the infinity edge? Then the three-inch hole for the bubbles I am beyond curious!! Not saying can't don't won't; a summer semester of statics was brutal but opens ta mind a bit to the hmmmmm...interesting--dawgh daawgh!!

Surprises me that you are going to pour concrete up to pool piping, thermal expansion and vibration is hard on pvc pipes I've seen them just fracture off flush with the concrete face. Back in the beginning of time we used to wrap them in Denso if they didn't have an oversize sleeve, the sleeve option was preferred for a myriad of reasons.
