Marigold’s little bundle of joy is just so adorable. Just love how Emily being a first time mom has taken on an abandoned baby to love as of it is her own baby. It’s just amazing how she has so much love to give and saved this baby from an untimely death that would have happened. Wish somebody would have done that for charlotte. But at least 2 monkey moms on monkey hill have done that and saved 2 other babies from that fate. These moms really had unconditional love for 2 abandoned babies that wasn’t their babies. People say animals don’t feel. I know humans who don’t feel.

All I could think of in the end of the video was poor Goldie who had to put up with Marigolds not even half hearted grooming but there's another thing that makes me feel for Goldie. Goldie will never have a baby of her own because the sterilisation. She's so timid compare to Marigold and I think that will worsen the feeling for her when she's sees all the babies. She reminds me of Nona. 🤓🇸🇪

@@restore91 Welcome! In Hong Kong the authorities have a sterilisation program for monkeys and boars. They try to keep the population under control. It's not what's needed in my opinion. They're afraid the monkeys will invade the human taken areas but they forget that most primates Rhesus macaques stay where the food is. There wasn't any monkeys in the area but after the reservoir was newly built 1938 they realised that the area had some poisonous plants. Knowing Rhesus macaques like eating them they introduced a group of monkeys to the area. So, in a way we humans are responsible for them. There isn't enough food for them in the woods so some humans became registered feeders. So, the food is given to them at Monkey hill so the monkeys stay there as they always done. If a monkey wandering off into the city I've got the impression it's a lone bachelor. 🤓🇸🇪

@@restore91it’s random. The authorities just trap whatever monkeys they happen to trap and sterilise them (only females I believe) Unfortunately it seems like they often choose the best mothers while mothers with lactation issues or terrible PPD continue popping out babies that never make it or have a starvin Marvin style upbringing ie Tina and Nora respectively. I think the general consensus is the feeders should give input to the authorities on which monkeys should be sterilised.

I love seeing all the new babies, but i won't lie everytime i see a newborn boy i am filled with both joy and sadness because i know what awaits them as they get old enough being ousted from their birth troop and family. We have seen so many times how most of them struggle to get excepted into another troop, and many we loose complete contact with and not knowing where they are and if they are okay.😢 not many are as fortunate as Dopey was. But one thing is certain the excitement and joy when birthing season starts

I have to say i admire the dedicated feeders more and more and more. This is twice now that we have seen them bring the monkeys food on foot and this time in the rain. That is done out of love for these beautiful monkey's for certain and i would say right now is an important time for the monkeys who have recently gave birth to ensure they are getting all the calories and vitamins needed to produce milk and keep the moms healthy. Please tell the wonderful feeders thank you and that their hard work and dedication to the monkeys has not gone unnoticed. That must have been a difficult walk carrying the food in the rain . In so many ways they are the heroes for the monkeys that we all have come to love and enjoy watching on your channel and Mr.Am channel. Monkey's Inc thank you for sharing the videos with us. I also have started considering how much money it takes to feed the monkeys is there any way us viewers could contribute? With the following you and Mr.Am has im sure more than a few of us would donate to the cause. It would relieve some stress and burden.

@MC - I am delighted to see the fabulous Emily and the twins thriving 🐒🐵🐒despite the 'Negative Nancys' who talked a lot of crap when you first introduced them! Although Bambi's position looks uncomfortable (to me), it seems to work fine. I get tired in my arms just watching her, but maybe monkeys don't suffer from lactic acid fatigue the same way humans do! Red dates seem very nutritious and tasty, just what the new mothers need! A big thank you to the feeders and to you, MC, for capturing all the lovely images and diligently tagging who's who and their relations All the best 🇸🇪

@@yvonneconte3040Unfortunately, the sterilized females would not be able to feed the abandoned baby and it would starve. The abandoned baby was lucky that Emily picked it up, and a sterilized female did not. While it may be hard on her, it looks like Emily is able to produce enough milk for the two babies.

Yes, she is a real person. The voice you are hearing is likely not her real voice, as she lives in Hong Kong and likely speaks Cantonese. We don’t need to know her real name, just that she is a remarkable young lady who loves the monkeys very much. We all call her MC. This is one of the better monkey channels. Others are Arroz Marisco, The Story So Far, JW and The Vervet Forest Foundation.

@@gsmith6026 Are you familiar with the history of Hong Kong? I ask you because you’re suggesting that she’s not a real English speaking person because she’s in Hong Kong. Research the 99 year lease Great Britain had on Hong Kong , after the 99 years was up it went back into Chinese government hands. There’s plenty of white English speakers living in Hong Kong today so it’s not far fetched to assume she’s an English woman living there. Anyway I was curious as to who is behind the voice I hear. I just like to know the person behind a voice I hear. I’m not interested in computer generated intelligence and their robotic voices. Thanks for suggestions on other channels.

It’s ridiculous how they scream and cry for food. They need to go live off the land. They fight one another and cry. Why do they feed them anything. Nature has gave them plenty. They act like they are starving
@DanielC__
@DanielC__ 2 ай бұрын
They mostly live off the land and are only fed twice per week. The feedings are necessary to support the ecosystem. This species was not native to HK 100 years ago. They were brought into the city and many were let go by expats and others. It's one of the reasons they started the sterilization program. If they didnt supplement their food the entire ecosystem and fauna would be raped by the monkeys. Or so it was reported back then in the newspapers as part of the reason for the program. HK is an extremely dense city and the nearby forest areas are equally as dense. I dont know near as much about it as these Vloggers but I did live in HK for many years and this subject was in the news regularly. It was about the time they started the sterilization program as the monkeys were penetrating the outskirts of the city more regularly.

@@DanielC__I was actually about to respond with nearly the same thing (though minus the hard R word analogy lol). It's especially important during the winter since there is literally nothing natural for them to eat given that the park is not where they are supposed to be, and never would be if not for humans dumping them there many years ago. If anything, I believe the least we can do is feed them since it's, in a way, taking responsibility for for putting them there
@geminichalimar

@DanielC__ actually, Rhesus macques range did go into this area. I read that in the 19th century, they were hunted out of this area. These troops today are released monkeys comprised of Rhesus, long-tail and hybrids. Rhesus were reintroduced for seed dispersal. According to what I read, there are approximately 1800 macques in about 30 troops in the area. Not all of them range along Golden Hill Road.
@DanielC__
@DanielC__ 2 ай бұрын
@@geminichalimar Maybe so but I lived in HK for many years and when the monkey feeding/sterilization program was in the news it was said there were no Macaques in HK a century ago. Wether they were there at some point in the past didnt matter to the decision makers at the time. There was more or a moral conscious when HK decions were made soley by HK'ers. Thats all changed since HK has been handed back over to the mainland. Many of the conditions of hand over have been violated and its one of the reasons I left. It might be one of the reasons the feeding was reduced. The same moral compass most HKer's have is not shared by their mainland cousins.
