To my limited knowledge, 440 Hz is the frequency of the note A exactly, so like if you used a tuner to tune, it will measure the frequency of the note to see how close it is to 440Hz for A. I think orchestras usually tune slightly higher for a brighter sound or smth (well actually idk why, I’m not in orchestra) at like 442Hz, but I honestly doubt 1 or 2 Hz make a huge difference to the pitch. Correct me if I’m wrong, this is just what I’ve always thought but I haven’t researched it or anything...
